Why is it assumed that hair length defines gender? We don't do that to adults. For the record, my dad had this weird thing about long hair on girls, so when I was a kid, my hair was cut horrendously short, and the only time I wasn't mistaken for a "handsome young man" was when I was wearing a dress. :mad:
Naturally, my son wears his hair anyway he likes, but I never blame others if they can't tell the difference. It's hard with kids, so I understand mistakes, but maybe that's when you start saying "your child" instead of "she" or "your son". Just a thought that gender neutral language would eliminate these problems.
Wow! That was quite a ramble for me. Guess I still have issues, even though my hair is halfway down my back.
