I like the way they somehow hide the Blue Bayou restaurant sign, but forgot to hide the trash can. I'm sure that without the trash can, it would be less obvious there is something "wrong" with the picture.

I was looking at the text, and at the bottom it says that she's gonna find the people who left and bring them back (my rough translation) and then plan schools and homes for them. It's an awkwardly worded phrase; of course people left--most of them should've left alot sooner than they did, or left instead of stayed. Why did they leave? That's like asking why the chicken crossed the road. Did anyone really edit that stuff? What it should've said was that she would work to encourage people to return, after the houses have been rebuilt. I mean, if people come back when there are still no habitable homes, and no jobs, where are they going to live and work to support themselves? If you build it, they will come. But ya gotta build it first.
What she should do is work on getting the city rebuilt, possibly even getting her hands dirty herself with helping out, and once the city is back, people will return. Maybe even businesses will relocate down there, though I understand some people who left Louisiana are happy in their new areas. One man had never seen mountains before, so when he saw his first mountains, he thought they were painted on some kind of backdrop! Another lady took her kids to Alaska, and they've managed to be very content there, even though they're about the only blacks in their neighborhood. Face it, some people were in a rut. I recently read a book about this lady whose family had a plantation before the Civil War, managed to keep it into the 20th century, but it wasn't until she went away to school that she began to really live. When the plantation was sold off, she moved to St. Louis. She realized that plantation life, though full of history, had its downside. Though there are people who are better suited to living in a town where the family history is, there are those who would be doing themselves the biggest favor to go to other states or even countries. All said, Kimberley should seek to revitalize New Orleans, to bring it into the 21st century. Because nothing lasts forever. She can keep some of the things that bring tourists, but things like Louisiana's famed corrupted politicians and police should remain in history where they belong, and integrity should be the new face of politics and law enforcement.
