Tommorrowland Riot

Post by Zap69 » Sun Apr 09, 2006 11:43 pm

On April 8, Space Mountain Closed at normal park closing at 11:00. Well about 3-5 mins afterwards, one family starts to complain.Saying they want to ride and the normal bs. They knew the ride was closed and infact the ride was in theprosessof being broke down for the night, but they didn't care. THEY WERE GOING TO RIDE. Guest family #1 says that this was the only reason they came tothe park was to ride on Space MT. Guest Family #2 said that they were there at 11:00 and we closed 5 mins early. Nowof corse they want to speak to a manager or a supervisor so one came out. Then the next thing u know is tempers start flaring up. Theres a crowd getting unruely outside. Finally Security, Managers, and Supervisors show up. They were all saying know until somehow they decied at 11:30 to let them ride. SO u know that ticked off every CM that had to go and start the ride again and because they counld go home yet. So once again this proves that nomatter what time the park closes if u want to ride a ride and cause a big enough scene, u will get to ride the ride. because of one thing.... DISNEY CAN NOT SAY NO!!!

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

I have extended -- willingly -- for any number of good reasons. Wedding parties, kids who spent the afternoon at hospital, "hazardous" VIPs (the sort that would cause a disturbance if recognized), etc.

I have never -- and seriously doubt that I would -- extend for someone just because of a pissy attitude. (And that includes pissy attitudes belonging to a GSM!)

Knowing the train crews I work with, we could probably streatch a 20-minute trip into a couple of hours, and with a minimum crew of six that's non-trival time and money. That way, the PA-GSM would have to explain to *his* boss about all the extra labor hours. It's a sure bet *that* won't happen twice!

The good new is that due to short staffing, if even *one* member of the crew manages to vanish, we *can't* reopen.

I keep a jar of vanishing cream in my locker for just such occasions, too!

I heard the same thing happened at Soarin' on Friday. Maybe it's the same family (did they say they had just run over from the Grand Floridian?).

I'm glad my attraction has animals that have to be taken care of. 'Cause otherwise, my managers are so soft that we'd never close.

Just out of curiosity WTF do these people do all day long? Other than figure ways to piss people off? Too bad you can't find where they work for a little payback! Assholes.

When we closed Pirates, there was simply no way for a guest to find a cast member to complain to. When I was Pirates greeter during closing, the second I heard the voice of God, I'd have the chain up and be out of sight. And if a guest decided to jump the chain to follow me in, all they'd find when they got there is a locked door.

Granted, occasionally a wheelchair guest would arrive several minutes late through the exit, but all I'd have to tell them is the truth -- these boats we're dispatching now aren't coming back. When Pirates closes, the boats are locked into the bottom level for the night.

I am so sorry. I hate when managers and captains over rule you. If you won't hold up our rule that the CM is imposing, than why not you do our job. I would be soooo pissed if that happened to me. OF COURSE the reason that they came here is for the ride (or character in my area). fuck that shit I tell them straight up if it was so important than you would have come seen us earlier today and not on your way out the gate.

That would have made me furious as well. Whenever the managers let guests get their way, it only gives the guests more fuel to throw their next huge fit.

At Disney does your schedule just say "close" or were you scheduled out at like 11:30? If I were in that situation I would have told my lead that I was going to leave the minute I was scheduled out.

If it makes you feel any better, at Shrek a guest started screaming because our attendant wasn't letting her jump over the queue lines. In her rant, the guest called our attendant a "fat asshole." Our lead took the guest out of line and followed the guest around half of our park until security finally came and got her KICKED OUT!

After we tell the CMs at Stretch to close at the Mansion, that's it. The door will not open anymore, no matter how much you beg.
