OH please do!!! I think that would be hilarious!

Something rubs me the wrong way about this. I think kids should be measured more than once before they get on a thrill ride like Everest. I've heard too many stories of kids magically shrinking two inches between the time they got measured at the beginning of the queue and when they made it to the loading docks. It's just a double (and sometimes triple) check. Remember! Safe-D begins with me (Sarcastic chortle).

I think it would be better to check the kids RIGHT before they are allowed to board that ride...and it would be kind of funny.

"Oh, you waited four and a half hours in line? Well, let's mesaure little Jimmie here...uh-oh...looks like he's 3 inches to short...sorry, you can't ride...NEXT!"

Yeah, it's funny alright....until you get a psycho guest who decides the best way to get their kid on the ride is to beat the crap out of you. And I'm sure on this site there are 3,000,000 posts saying how people react negatively to their kid not getting on a ride.

Hey guys,

I'm pretty sure I can answer this question for ya'll! I have a friend who is a manager in Asia. Although the height for EE is 44 inches, that is only the height for children who can ride with adult supervision. The height for being able to ride without the supervision is 48 inches. The stamp is used to show the CMs that the child is allowed to ride, but must have the adult supervision.

No. You wouldn't. TRUST ME.

We actually have those measuring sticks at BTMR, and yes, we do use them - and yes, we have sent more than one guest who braved a 90 minute line (and their screaming kid) walking across the train to the exit.

It's not fun. It's not funny - heartbreaking more than anything else. If anything, though, it shows the other guests in line that yes, we're serious about the measurements.

Oh yeah. Like the guest who stuffed her kid's shoes with ice cream sandwiches (she was busted when the child was overheard to complain "Mommy, my feet are cold and they hurt!"). One of my coworkers actually saw a guest dump a bottle of water on her child's head, then walk him over to BTMR saying "You don't need to measure him - he rode Splash Mountain!"

I personally have overheard a guest telling her child, "Now remember, don't start crying until they tell you you're too small to go on the ride. Then you cry as loud as you can, ok?"

Sounds like some of the stories published in that "Unofficial Guide" in the section called: 'How to get your screamer on rides where he is just a bit to short.'

Don't get me wrong. I love the book. It's publishing stories like that are what bother me.

RocketBoatZ15 wrote:Hey everyone. Today I was at Space Mt. greeter. A lady was walking past me with her child when I asked to check his height. She said "he rode Expedition Everest! Look at his hand it says Yeti on it!" It was stamped on it in big block letters. I told her I still had to check him and she still kept on mentioning the ride and the stamp. The kid was fine but it was hard to talk to her because she kept on mentioning the stamp. Arrgh! I was trying to tell her that I had no idea why they stamped the child. Also, how we have no stamping system here.

OK the question. What is with the stamp and what is it for? Is it for CM referance? It's the first time I have seen it. thank you. Is it for lost and found or something?
