I was at WDW yesterday for the DCL announcement, and as I walked in, a man pointed at Spaceship Earth and told his companion, "There's Space Mountain!" I was dying to say, "I had no idea that mountains were ball-shaped...HYS." (Although I guess to be fair, the real SM isn't realistically shaped either...but doesn't he know the difference between MK and Epcot?)

"If you are a dee, please don't marry a dee, 'cause then your kids will be dee dee dee." ....Carlos Mencia

"It's the difference between champagne and carbonated pee!" ....Homer Simpson

Nice work, pal

Anything with "space" in it gets mixed up.
I have heard guests call Space Mountain Mission Space, and they often call Mission Space "Mission to Mars".

Well at least that last one makes sense. You're on a mission, you're going to Mars, it has Gary Sinease (sp?) who was in a movie called "Mission to Mars", and there used to be an attraction called Mission to Mars (albiet at the Magic Kingdom).

But looking at SSE and calling it Space Mountain? That's a little odd.

Yeah, I know. But you can't really expect everybody who goes to WDW to know about every attraction. Most people don't realize that it is even called spaceship earth. They probably only remember bits and pieces, or maybe have just heard the name, and assume "Oh, this must be it."
(By the way, I think it's Gary Sinise)

I like saying it's the big golf ball thingie. That really pisses off the Disneyaholics, especially on Disney fan sites when someone starts a thread about "...I can't believe people call (such and such) this name...."

heck, I worked there for six months and I even called it "The Big Ball" sometimes to eliminate any chance of confusion. But Space Mountain? C'mon. When was the last time you saw a mountain that was ball-shaped?
