My #1 worst guest moment
This happened to me near the end of my college program, december 04. Hands down the greatest example of how depraved and low class some people can be, especially now a days.
I was outside the Movie Ride working at the front usher position, which entails greeting & welcoming, scanning incoming guests for food & drinks, etc. and answering the flood of questions. Lots of people hate it, but it's my favorite because I get to be out of doors and I can move around a bit.
Anyway, a woman, her husband, and their little kid come up to me and ask me where the closest bathroom is, and I can tell it's urgent because the kid has his legs literally crossed and was wincing. So I point out that the closest restroom is the ABC theatre building, about 50 yards away. The husband smiles and nods, and I turn away to tend to the line and see how it's moving, thinking the matter is closed. I turned back perhaps 5-10 seconds later, and curiously the woman is just standing there, with her hand over her mouth, smiling like she's trying to surpress a laugh. My mind quickly assumes the worst, and of course, I'm right. I hate being right in situations like this one. I slowly peek roudn the corner, behind the left big red column (those familiar with the chinese theatre facade know what I mean), and as you might have suspected, the husband is helping his son take a piss on the building, in plain view of EVERYONE. The closest bathroom was literally about 40-50 yards away, but apparently there was some compelling reason for getting on line for GMR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (it IS a great ride, but COME ON).
Of course, I was vehement. I am usually a very tolerant CM, but this was absurd - NO ONE pees on my ride. I instructed them firmly yet still as kindly as possible that this behavior was completely unacceptable for any public place, let alone in the park. The guy quickly helped his kid zip up and disappeared into the line for the ride inside. I then called in a protein spill, and had one wicked story for lunch @ the break room! The NERVE of some parents!! :mad:
I probably should have gotten a manager or gone to security or something, but I was too amazed and shocked to think straight at that point.

My worst guest moment as of right now would have to be.....
Right at the beginning of the year when we had a cold snap and everyone was rushing to buy sweatshirts and what not. I had an AP come in to get a sweatshirt for her kid. She asked if her AP discount was good and she handed me her book of discounts. First I explained to her that the book had expired Dec 31 2005. She thought that since she got her pass in June that the discounts were good until June. Wrong. Then she told me just to call my manager and see if I could do the discount anyways. I called him and was told no, only DTD does AP discounts. When I explained this to her she got all huffy and said she was going to Guest Relations and reporting me and my manager for not giving her the discount. I smiled and said okay, and gave her both mine and my manager's name. She finally decided that she would go ahead and pay the full price for her son's sweatshirt. (all of $15) I just had to laugh as soon as I hit backstage about this. People are nuts.

You can't really call it a "bad" guest moment unless you end up in an Alpha Unit... that you had to call yourself because management was too busy... and lose 10 months of work. :wheelchai

(this is long..but it's worth the read, trust me)
One night I waited on the most horribly rude table EVER at the Canyon.
I'd been doing this server thing for a while now and I have never had to serve a group of people that had less respect and dignity for anyone then this fabulous group.
It was a party totalled at 19, and I had 12 of them while another server had the remaining 7.
They started out okay, ordered drinks and such. Then about five minutes after I got them their virgin daquiris they wanted a refill. Since they were on the DDP, I told them that they'll have to pay since it was a non-refillable drink. A middle-aged "father" in the group then yelled at me saying that I told them that when you were on the dining plan that ALL drinks were all you can drink, whereas in actuality it was just the milkshakes (and the obvious sodas, ice teas and such) that are unlimited quantities. They were extremely mad and just ordered iced teas demanding not to be charged for them because "I lied about what was included in the plan" to them apparently.
It only gets worse from here.
Of course, to my luck, the kitchen forgot to bring out one steak for the table (we have food runners so I didn't see it go out). Yet again, I get yelled at about the steak and I assured him that it would be right out (it was rare, so the cook time is only like 5-7 mins).
Then, another woman at the table eats half her steak and then complains to my manager that it was undercooked. She tells him that she doesn't want another one but just wants it taken off the bill. We take it off, no problem. When I go back to the table about 3 mins later (at this point shaking in fear from them) she asks me very rudely where her steak is. I explain to her that my manager thought she didn't want the steak and to just comp it on the bill. So we cook her another med rare steak. About 8 mins later the steak is almost done. I go back out and she tells me that NOW she doesn't want it. !!!!!!!
At that point I felt like crying but of course it gets worse.
The "other father" in the party yelled out at me while I was taking the order of another table that they were ready for dessert. They get desserts and he tells me "I can complain about your manager, I can complain about you, and I can complain about the food in Disney, but these desserts are OK."
Then they were ready to pay. Between my table of 12, they had 3 different dining plans (very common thing). In total they had 10 people on their cards making them 2 people short. I explained to them that they're going to have to pay for the extra two people somehow. They told me to take it off the dining plan of one of the cards. So, therefore, one card with 4 people got charged for 6 meals. This happens every now and then and is okay to do as long as the customers know they'll have less table service meals left. Well, I bring the bill out to them and they immediately get angered at having a different amount of meal plans then the other cards at the table. I re-explained everything to them and they stormed off which was almost a relief for me.
Similar issues happened at the 5-top table the was the rest of the party was sitting with another server other than myself. Just incredible rudeness and ignorance.
Except they walked out without paying. :-/
I guess then they thought it was cute to leave me a note saying "here's your tip, Enjoy" and four pennies. What they probably didn't realize is that I got their large party 18% gratuity.
So, needless to say, I was astounded that people could be this inconsiderate and rude. Even though I work at WC where things get all loud and crazy at times, I don't appreciate when people get loud and crazy at me.

A touch off subject.The stoopidest question i was ever asked was how thick is 1/2" plywood? I kid you not, I looked at this customer with hung over eyes! just my $.02.

WC must attract the weirdos. I'll never forget having lunch there one day, a few years back, and having a party of five seated near us in which two ordered the unlimited platter and the rest ordered nothing. They all assured the server that the other three people were only there "to watch." Yeah, right, watch and help themselves to the all-you-can-eat food. They got pretty belligerent when the server didn't go along with it. Jeez, how freakin' cheap can you get?
