It's not like that at Disneyland. When you buy any hat (that can have the hand embroidery on it) the embroidery is free. Even if you buy the hat someplace that doesn't have the machine, you can just take it to any of the stores that do and they will do it for you.KerryLeanne wrote:When I worked at Chapeau on Main Street, they wouldn't even let the sewers write "Mom" on the hats.
And they charge for embroidery now too, it's like $2 or something. Just so you know.
The do have one location on the end of Main Street that has a fancier, computer programmed machine that can embroider on pretty much anything that you can buy in the park. That costs $7 and you can get it about a dozen different colors and fonts.
With the hand embroidery, they tend to be stricter with what you put ont he hat but I saw plenty of nickname looking names on ears while there last week. And at the place that you pay for the embroidery they seem to pretty much put anything within reason. I guess they figure that if you are paying for it that you should get a bit more freedom in your choice I suppose.
I was there on my honeymoon and they embroidered Bride and Groom onto two baseballs hats for my husband and I with no problem. Even though I had been warned that the hand embroidery people may not do it on the ears by friends who had tried that.
