WTF? They should not get re-ads for not getting to the ride before closing.

I've told guests that the ride has been open for (10-13) hours and will be open at 9am tomorrow. That usually shuts them up.

Guest: "How fast does this go?"
Me: "88 mph"

Guest: "Which row is the least wet?"
Me: "Row 6." (There are only 5 rows in the boat)

We had a group like this tonight at Shrek. The problem is that it was a group of about fifteen people. The lead talked to them after I did, and apparently they'd been through earlier in the day, and knew that the last show was at six...

Boohoo the ride broke. aNd now I have to spend the next half hour telling you yahoos and reiterating that no I don't know what time or what's wrong, adn no you can't get a friggin fastpass. You were in line? For how long? An hour? BULL! Buzz Lightyear is NEVER an hour long. SHut up and go ride tours.

Actually my favorite is when two rides are down at the same time (which happens alot) and you get this.

"Wait a minute, Buzz Lightyear is down?"
"Yes, we're sorry."
"This is horrible. I paid x$ to be here and this is down..Rodger RAbbit's is down-EVERYTHING IS BROKEN!"

"Paid $XXXX.XX to go to Disneyland so that we can ride Space Mountain and they are closed"

"I'm sorry, but if you paid that much to ride Space Mountain, then you got ripped off."

They think they can do anything since they paid a lot of money, but they don't know they paid admission just to get into the park, not to break the rules and stuff!!

Space Ranger at Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters

I worked at Universal, so I've heard the cliche "this never happens at Disney" in the following situations:

-when more than one ride is down (even if they're on the other side of the park)
-if a ride is down for more than 30 minutes
-if a ride is down, recovers, and goes down again later in the day.

I've even been tempted to quote from the Cartmanland episode of South Park about rides breaking down...

Dude that stuff happens all the time. Especially the part about going down, then going down again later. Last week Buzz went down about 3-4 times for various reasons...all in one day.

LMAO that is so hilarious. I worked at DL and KBF before I moved to Maine and people up here think that Orange County is like NYC...I've been to both, and truly nothing anywhere is 24/7 except for gas stations and some grocery stores, and, yeah, what I'm laughing at: WalMart!!
I do that for fun now, we live 45 minutes away from the only 24 hour one in the state and we will pack up and go there for fun from 1 a.m. til 5 a.m. then go to Dennys for breakfast.

What I remember about people thinking we could re-open at will was when I worked at the Golden Horseshoe we had finished doing the reservation thing for the show. A woman who had come while we taking reservations (we used to hand out little slips for each seating, anyone else remember that?) and didn't want to wait in the line for it. She came back after we had done the seating and asked to be let in right away. It was her, another woman, and two older men. We explained how it was limited seating and reservations were necessary. She said, "Yes, I know that, I was here earlier, remember, or do you not need a brain to work at Disneyland anymore?" I explained to her that yes, I did remember her arriving earlier and her reluctance to wait and she got very mad and said, "I was here, and whether I have a little pissant piece of paper or not, I am going to see this show!" I called over my sup, who explained the same thing to her, that we had guidelines to follow, that all the people inside had waited for their reservation ticket earlier and shown up on time for seating. The woman stood there and said, "We came here ALL the way from Georgia with the intent to see this show, and you are telling us we wasted a flight, hotel, and three days admission?" AS IF THAT WOULD WORK! My supervisor told her that in that case, geographically they were closer to WDW and that the shows there were much better, and offered to see if she could have their multi-day tickets to one day multi parks in FL, or she would give them a reservation ticket then for tomorrow's show. Suddenly, they had too many other things to see at the park over the next few days, and yadda yadda yadda, if an employee thought FL's shows were better, then maybe they SHOULD wait and just go there after they got home. :p:
Cracked me up, I'll tell ya.

Yuck, had a bad one today. I was closing the Firehouse at MK, which for those who don't know is the only locations at WDW to get Fire Mickey merchandise. I had just closed the big double front doors and was clearing the shop through the side door when a Cheer mom and her 2 ringlet clad daughters came running up to the door and tried to push past me. The conversation that followed:

me: I'm sorry ladies, but we are closed.
cheer mom: Oh, but I thought Main Street was open an hour after the park closes?
me: It is, but carts and smaller outdoor locations are closed, just the big stores remain open.
cheer mom: Oh, but isn't this where the fireman stuff is?
me: Yes ma'am, but (As the last guest leaves) the shop is now clear and I cannot allow anyone else in.
cheer mom: Oh, but my husband is a fireman. So I'm sure you understand that I need to get him a shirt from here.
me: I'm sorry, but I can't let you into the store. It's cleared and now I have to lock it.

Cheer mom gives me the dirtiest look she can muster, informs me that she is taking my name to City Hall and reporting me. I give her my name and point her towards City Hall, close and lock the door.

I then start closing the cash register when about 2 minutes later someone starts knocking at the door. And then the side door, and then the back door. I ignored it, since it's common for guests to pound on the doors after they are closed. I gather the till, and my fellow CM and I exit out the back door and lock it. I turn to head back across main street, and there is Cheer mom.

Cheer mom: They told me at City Hall that you have to let me in to get that Tshirt.
Me: Well ma'am, procedure for that is that a Guest Relations Cast Member would come reopen the shop. I can't open it unless they come over here or call my Manager.
Cheer Brat 1: No, they told mom that she could just come over here.
Me: I'm sorry miss, perhaps GR is calling my manager now, but I can't open the shop until I get confirmation from him.
Cheer brat 2: (Very Obvious Mock tears) But we promised our dad we would get him a souvenier.
Cheer Mom: I want to speak to your superior.
me: Not a problem... if you will just follow me I will get him for you.
Cheer mom: Oh nevermind... I don't care anymore! This is the last time I ever come here! *Storms off with Cheer Brat 1 and Cheer Brat 2*

Darn. I'll sure miss them.  :badmood: :chainsaw: :duh: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

You should have directed her to the Fire Station right next to City Hall so they could extinguish her pants...

(I'll let you figure out that joke)

Sorry to hear about all that. Stupid friggin guests. I can't take them sometimes.

Had a fool today that tried to come in with an NSA from 2004. conversation:
"I'm sorry sir, this is dated a long time ago, you can't use it'
"I used another one earlier."
(at this point my warning light is dinging in myhead)
"How many do you have?"
Cocky: "I dunno..a dozen."
"A dozen? You can't just get a dozen and use them up like that. You aren't supposed to have that many. Plus the date is wrong."
"This is stupid. You're being unreasonable. There's nothing on here that says you can't use it another time"
"I'm sorry, but I can't let you in. Let me get my sup."
"FINE"

My lead comes talks, my rotation comes so I go to merge, then my lead lets him in. I ask later what he said. He apparently called me an "A**" and my lead confiscated the rest of the NSAs but he got new ones. I hate Guests...and that guy knew exactly what he was doing. I was shaking mad because he's a total jerk..someone who witnessed it did call him a child molester though...he was creepy.
