Okay, so I'm a newbie. I'm a former Studios CM/trainer and yes I miss every second of it. Since lots of us are sharing stories, I figured I'd jump in.
Now I was trained at 3 of the 4 Sunset attractions, and a trainer at 2 of them. I was with the company for a year and 3 months before I self-termed to spend more time with my one year old daughter and to focus on school again.
Fantasmic!
-One night I was House 1 captain. I was at standing room, and had yet to backfill my wheelchair space because I was informed that a rush of guests travelling in wheelchairs were coming my way. A group was standing right behind my Wheelchair Beast section and informed them that standing room was available directly behind them designated by the yellow line. The woman proceeded to scream that another CM told her she could sit in the wheelchair seats when the show started. I politely informed her that "unfortunately, that CM had misinformed her, and that I apologize for it, however, these seats are reserved for our guests travelling in wheelchairs, which I do have a few parties coming to fill in this space." Again the woman screamed in my face, "BUT SHE TOLD ME I COULD SIT THERE." and pointed at a minor CM and again, I calmly apologized and told her that unfortunately we were at standing room only, and that it was back behind the yellow line. She huffed, and said to me and I quote, "Stupid fucking bitch, you have no idea what you're doing." I politely smiled, and said, "Ma'am, I will ask that you please refrain from use of that language, and I feel I must inform you that if you continue to pose a problem, I will be forced to contact Security." So she backed off for a bit. She left me alone til the show started, and then hunted me down, tapped me on the shoulder and said the infamous line, "What is your name? I'm going to report you to Guest Relations." and at this point, I was irked, so I turned my nametag towards her, said it and spelled it for her and then smiled and said, "When you stop by Guest Relations, please tell Melissa I said hi!" and walked off. I radioed my manager that night, Kelvin and told him what happened, and he took care of it.
--This one I heard from fellow F! CMs, seeing as to how I was off that day--
At the end of the show, we always stand at the top of each section and ask guests to NOT climb over the benches. Well, apparently, this one older woman had not heard, and tripped and fell, doing a face plant into the bench infront of her. Head is sliced open and everything. So we have to call an alpha unit, and they come and patch her up. Well, she had gotten blood on her shirt, and as a Guest Service Recovery, the manager on duty sent a CM named Ray to the nearest gift shop to get her a new shirt. Well the nearest gift shop that sells T-Shirts is Tower Gifts. So he runs in there, explains the situation, and grabs a shirt. He runs back to the woman, and hands her the shirt. Turns out he grabbed the one that says, "Next time, use the stairs." The woman was a great sport about it, and everyone had a good laugh.
Beauty and the Beast (aka TOTS or Theater of the Stars)
-I was at photocell, and this one woman who spoke no english...damn me for being able to speak spanish because I got torn a new one by her...comes up to me and starts screaming at me in Spanish how there are no more seats left for them (they went up the EXIT) and how that was the 3rd time hey couldn't see something that day. So I asked her to explain what happened, she told me that LMA was cancelled due to the weather (thunderstorms...which we can control, right guys? Who forgot to put up the dome that day? *lol*) and Mermaid wouldn't let them in because they were 5 minutes late for their FP (which I found odd...and knew she was lying because we don't allow early FP, but we accept late ones...) and said it was my fault and demanded a manager. So I called the manager, Charlotte, and she showed up with one of the area coordinators, Alysha. I explained, and Charlotte saw how pissed the woman was, but couldn't do anything about it, since we don't control the weather, we're not Animation Courtyard and BatB is done for the day. So she asks me to escort them to Guest Relations, and I have to find a spanish speaking rep. Talk about being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Tower of Terror
-I was at Delta Load, and had a party of 5 come through. I asked to check the height on a little girl, and her head didn't touch the bar. So of course, the mother said the infamous, "She's ridden it x amount of times already today! She's tall enough!" and did the famous head grab and stretch. I did it, and of course, she didn't touch. One of the CPs, Daniel, comes over and slides a credit card between her head and the bar and says, "Yeah, she's not tall enough, unfortunately, for her safety she's unable to ride." Mother - "Like hell, she's riding it." ..."Tower? Radio a manager, height situation at Delta." Management got her out after like 5 minutes of argument, and the entire wait for the manager to show listening to her calling me "ignorant", "retarded", and "full of shit"

You forgot to mention that the only other choice for a shirt at Tower gifts was the shirt that said "Fear every drop!"xtinkerbell84x wrote: --This one I heard from fellow F! CMs, seeing as to how I was off that day--

They have been telling that story for a while now...

That story about the shirt was hysterical! :D: I'm glad that she was a good sport about it. However, I'm sorry that those people treated you that way. :( There's no reason for that.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

Well I'm not one to be mean to "Give Kids The World" Kids. Sometimes they seem to overruse their proviledge.
One mom came off my elevator with her son with those blue pins on in, walked up to me and pointed at it and said "hey he wants to go again" and just pointed at it. I mean, id let him go anyways, it just... i dunno, it made me feel awkward...

PM me, do we know each other? *LOL*
Yeah, there are some parents who take advantage of that, who pretty much exploit their children.TowerTimmy wrote:Well I'm not one to be mean to "Give Kids The World" Kids. Sometimes they seem to overruse their proviledge.

As sad as it is to see those children, they really had no effect on me until I staged a platform with a GKtW party of 3 in row 1...and I knew them. Before Disney, I used to work at a day care, and I recognized the kids, I took care of them, and I nearly cried when I saw the little boy had one of those buttons on. I knew he had health problems, but not that severe, so of course I offered them a re-ride. Come to think of it, that was 2 platforms after the height incident I mentioned before *LOL*
