Union info?
Union info?
Can someone direct me to the UNITE HERE website for the local at DLR? I need to refer to the contract, as Disney is refusing to pay me for my accrued Vacation and Sick Leave that I had when I seperated back on the 10th?

They're not paying it because I hadn't been there six months. I confirmed it in the contract. Basically, unless my manager applied it as sick days to my last week when I was sick the entire time, I don't get a penny of it. Basically, that leaves me a final paycheck of $2.00 from Commuter Incentive points.

Represents hotel CMs in several departments at DLH, PPH, and GCH.

Represents DL, DCA, and WOD Stores and is currently trying to organize Hotel Stores, one of the only guest-facing departments that isn't part of a union.

If it's worth the hassell (sp?) contact the labor board, accrued vacation and sick time is money owed to the employee by california law, and that's not one of the rights that can be bartered away by a collective bargaining unit.

Yes, I realize it's bad form to quote oneself, but I'll do it anyways ... I should rephrase the initial statement. HERE Local 362 pretends to represent attractions at WDW. Based on the rather weak contract they negotiated, I sometimes wonder if they actually have our best interests in mind.hhsrat wrote:HERE Local 362 represents attractions at WDW ... http://www.herelocal362.org/
I've heard some people say that Safaris should be represented by Equity ... I personally don't think we're performers, at least, not on the level that Equity would have any interest in us ... I've also heard people say we should be represented by Teamsters, based on the fact that we're truck drivers. Again, it seems a bit far-fetched to me ... all that being said, I have no idea who should represent Safaris, but I'm pretty sure Hotel and Restaurant Employees doesn't quite fit the bill.

We get the same thing over at Jungle. Should we be Equity? I think so. Our OG says we are to use acting, participation, the spiel, and the scenery to our advantage.
