   I just heard a rumor about Cast Members from DL staging a SICK OUT! If this is the case, then all I have to say is YOU GO, GUYS!!!! This Presenteeism bullshit is really making me sick to my stomach and I am happy to see that CMs are starting to stand up to the self-centered capitalist swine of TDA. I just had a discussion with a friend of mine about the old days at DL when I was working there and I strongly feel that they don't give a DAMN about any hard-working, underpaid and underappreciative CM. I can't wait for any news about this SICK OUT event and see the TDA swine and managers run the Parks themselves and take the crap we have to go through everyday with guests.
As far as I am concerned, I would love to see the humiliation of the TDA Swine! :p:

Re: Sick Out At Disneyland?
The biggest problem with these is that the people who get screwed the most are the CMs who can't afford to call in and have to work the whole day with no help.
Re: Sick Out At Disneyland?
I don't understand. He got a three day. Why? Was he over his point limit? They just gave it to him because they didn't appreciate him using a personal? That's bullshit! If I were that cast member I would have refused to sign it. That's what union's are for. Well, that's what they should be for.
I would love to see the fat corporate pigs working all the carts. Having to sell to angry guests and having to apologize to them for long lines and running out of food. They created the problem in the first place. You can only treat your employees like shit for so long before they turn against you...

Re: Sick Out At Disneyland?
I'm all for a sick out. My friends and I are sick and tired of Disney and all the bullshit lately on how they treat us. If the departments in my union all did a sick out one day, they would be screwed. Can you imagine the managers and TDA trying to run the park by themselves? They panic when the park gets a little crowded. Think how they would be if they had the run it by themselves. They wouldn't be able to do it.

Re: Sick Out At Disneyland?
Please don't make me go back there.During other labor crunches—such as the Big Strike of 1984—Disneyland did call on former cast members to fill in. Remember, though, that was a temporary situation.

"A little swordplay, now and then, keeps my mind off sheep!"
"You're messing with my Zen thing, man."
"Dreams are as portals,
flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

They can't do that. If I were your friend, I would fight it. They can't just give you a 3 day for calling out (unless his points warranted it).Polar33 wrote:Hey all, just wanted to step in for a second to remind everyone to keep the above SGT commandment in mind. A member of my department received a three day suspension this summer for simply calling personal when the company felt that they could have asked for the time off. Never mind the fact that doing so would have been useless as additional time off hadn't been granted for any reason what-so-ever since March, but I digress. So I'm sure that suspending people over a sick-out wouldn't be that far of a stretch for the Mouse.
Don't get me wrong, I love to hear about people sticking to the man...but the last thing I'd want to hear is stores of the man retaliating, so be careful.
