Recruitment?
Recruitment?
When I was in Orlando last week I seen a ad on The Weather Channel stating that WDW was recruiting. I was just wondering what sort of processes you guys went through to get the job? I mean do you apply to be a street cleaner or is that job assigned to you?

Re: Recruitment?
My Mom answered a newspaper ad, as far as I know, she applied for a job as a CRO agent and got it. She was only on the floor as a CRO agent for a couple of months before they bumped her up to the Travel Company. She was on the sports team, she made reservations for people like John Elway and Steve Young.Le Poof wrote:When I was in Orlando last week I seen a ad on The Weather Channel stating that WDW was recruiting. [FYI: Steve Young was a major asshole, LOL!]

Cool... Love the quote from your mom in your sig, BTW -- though I'd suggest forced sterilization rather than euthanization. We need a few stupid people around for laughs, just so long as they aren't allowed to reproduce!CerasiJ wrote:My Mom answered a newspaper ad, as far as I know, she applied for a job as a CRO agent and got it. Hehe, thanks! And I agree, we need stupid people for laughs. But then again, even if we killed all the stupid people, we'd still have Ashlee Simpson to laugh at. :D:BRWombat wrote:Cool... Re: Recruitment?
You generally have to apply for a specific role, but you don't necessarily get hired into the role you apply for. Sometimes the Casting Director has enough sense to put folks where they belong instead. The process is streamlined a bit if you go to one of the job fairs. Right now, if you can demonstrate that you can smile and stand up at the same time, we've got a place for you!Le Poof wrote:When I was in Orlando last week I seen a ad on The Weather Channel stating that WDW was recruiting. Re: Recruitment?
HI!!
I live in Uruguay, South America. Ive visited Disney World four times, any really really loved it. On my third visit i met an international college program cast member from Brazil. She was working in Magic Kingdom in the merchandsie area. She told me how she loved to be there and i spent the next 20 minutes asking how she got the job.
I went that same day to Guest Service, they told me that i had to apply online, or with an agencie in my country.
I came back and since then i hace been sending thousands of e mails to Disney, the embassy, the agencies in Argentina and Brazil, but they all answered that my country did not participate in the program.
For 2 years i recieved a very nice mail form Disney and from teh diferent agencies, telling me NO!
But last march, after sending another e mail to Disney, showing again my dissapontment, i recieved an email form STB, tha agencie in Brazil and Argentina. They told me tahat Disney asked them to contact me and that i had the oprotunity to travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to attend to the diferent presentations ans interviews.
So i traveled to Argentina( a country next to Uruguay), i had 4 interviews, the last with the Disney recruiting team. 400 hundrede peolple went to the first presentation and finally 90 were selected by the Disney team.
So.... i was selected!! The only Uruguayan with 89 argentines.
I am travelling on novemeber 29, and i will be working in Merchandise.
My program ends on febraury 24.
So i will be part of the Disney Magic for 3 months!
It is true, theres always a dream coming true but..........IT WAS NOT EASY FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

A New Hire CM "can request" Custodial if they are familiar with the dept. Chances are Custodial will be granted as this dept. needs so many CMs. IN WHITES, still The Finest. :)Le Poof wrote:I was just wondering what sort of processes you guys went through to get the job? Hope you enjoy your time at Walt Disney World - last year, I met some great people from South America who were down working for the summer (our winter)... most from Brazil. Unfortunately none were working in my area, but some became my neighbors in Chatham! :)
Te deseo mucha mucha suerte durante tu estadía en Orlando :)
