Please pass the salt?!?

Post by CBeilby » Sat Oct 29, 2005 10:46 am

Ok, yesterday, I had a guest order a couple of pizza baskets. (For those who aren't familiar with Toontown foods, Daisy's Diner offers a pizza basket deal with side salads in addition to the pizzas.) One lady, when she gets her salads, asks us about salt. I tell her that it'll be at the condiments island ("It's at the table by the stairs with the umbrella...") A few minutes later, she returns, and says that there is none there. At this point, I explain to her that, if it isn't there, then we don't have any.

Now, here's the SGT part of the story.

Apparently, this woman does not believe either me or the other CM at Daisy's, both of whom told her that we were out. (The other CM is a former Toontown lead, so you'd think she'd know.) She proceeds to go and ASK ONE OF THE BUSSERS IF WE WERE TELLING THE TRUTH!

Geeze, people. You'd think that if we work there, we'd know what we have in stock. What's next? Going to City Hall, and asking them if Toontown has salt? All they'd do is call us and ask...

These people are such idiots. Next time just tell them, Sorry Maam, we have salt but I am just too lazy to walk 4 feet to get it because that would require me to work. :D:

By the way, who the hell puts salt on their pizza basket and salad anyways?

Lol. Don't you just love the guests who don't believe you? Being a working lead in my area, my 'favourite' guests are the ones who try to go over our heads when we're following protocol on something (i.e. Hat writing or holding policies)...they get shot down anyway.

You'd think that someone who works in the area would know what they were talking about...but what do I know...I'm just a cast member...

I Had A Lady Ask In Our Hotel Lounge For Salt For Her Fruit Platter. As Weird As That Was, (and In 6 Years There, I Had Never Heard Of It.) Another Lady Came Up A Half Hour Later Asking For Salt For Her Fruit. Weird!

I personally enjoy salt on my watermellon and pepper on my cantalope.
Mmmmm......peppery.

How about people who put salt into their beer? What's that all about?!?!

I don't know. If I was at a restaurant in DL, and was told that you didn't have any salt, I would be fairly incredulous myself.

Many people enjoy salt on their pizza, myself included. If you were working a burger joint, would you consider a guest to be stupid if he didn't believe you when you told him you didn't have any ketchup?

Disney has no business running out of a commonly used condiment. It is inexcusable.

Many, many people at one of the busiest places on Earth in a day + slow truck drivers/shipping lanes = no salt.

It happens all the time up here... sometimes it's like Russian bread lines, I swear! :p:
