Holiday decorations?
I was wondering if anyone knows if the christmas decorations would be up by November 11th. I know the christmas parade and fireworks dont start until veteran weekend but i just want to know if the park will be decorated before that, as it has been in the past. If anyone one knows the answer it is greatly appreciated!

Can't answer a simple yes or no. In some areas, the Holiday decor is already up, other places won't get it until Thanksgiving weekend.friendlypixie wrote:I was wondering if anyone knows if the christmas decorations would be up by November 11th. Like every other department, Holiday Decorating has had it's staff and budget cut every year for the past few, which means it takes longer to put up the decorations each year.

There is a schedule for when each park and resort *should* be complete, but with Hurricane Wilma possibly headed our way, I wouldn't trust that plan to remain intact. :hurricane
You'll just have to have the holiday spirit on the inside, and hope the exterior matches. (And if you instead go for putting holiday *spirits* inside, try to stay *away* from the matches!)

For Disneyland? It should be, most of it is done Nov. 1st. (Park transforms over night).

What I miss about not being at the park anymore was going in Thanksgiving Day and seeing all the holiday decorations up for the first time in the year. It's a shame they do it earlier now - that was one of Ron Dominguez's things - no tree or decorations (other than Mickey's Christmas Chalet) until the holidays actually started. You have to give the display department a lot of credit for doing it all in one night. They rock.
And yes, the park does look wonderful once it's all decked out in wreaths and holiday finery...

Re: Holiday decorations?
Usually at DLR the decorations go up the first weekend of November, but if you look closely at some buildings there are already lights installed but not turned on. Of course our holiday merchandise was put out already at DLH and GCH.

Re: Holiday decorations?
I sually always pay close attention to the holiday decorating about this time of the year, so far the back show building behind the train has lights and most the left side, as of monday, so its prob done by now, i also was told this year due to the side of POD floats the garland and mickey heads will not be strung across main street, which will be kind of a dissapointment, but no doubt the holiday crew will make up for it, yah i really like the one nighter that Disneyland does, only they start putting up now, what you cant really notice, as in lights on buildings. They last year turned on the lights and decorated the park around the 2nd weekendor so, if i recall was the 18th, kinda late for Disneyland, especially since it was during the harris reign, I would think she would have wanted to cash in on her new christmas line up early, get people into the park to buy that mickey christmas snowglobe, hows WOD facade coming along? I live 15 mni away yet i cant spend 10 bucks for parking, they need a blue pass for parking, sign me in! =op But how does one become apart of the christmas team? always been a dream of mine! <really>

If you look at the CM reference guide, it says that Small World is re-opening on the 11th, so that should be the last possible day for the park to be decorated.
