I don't understand why guests expect that I'm going to make an entire boatload of hundreds of people sit and wait for them. Good lord, people, I need to close the gate sometime! If I keep waiting for the next group coming up, we could be sitting there for a friggin' hour.
I actually had a woman stick around today just so she could berate me for not letting her in. "You saw me!" Ugh! Yeah, I saw you just show up as I was closing the gate, and you hadn't even gotten your child out of the stroller yet. Go away.
Wait for me!

Re: Wait for me!
The same issue happens all the time at the trams. Most of the time there is someone walking up to the tram to board. It doesn't matter if you wait for them, there is some other group walking up after them. So it always seems that you "only left without them". Of course you also hear the comment: "There was still room there...and there...and there....why did he leave? That was rude." It drives me crazy sometimes.
I also hate it when they come up with their stroller and want to board while you are taking off. If you do wait then they take 5 minutes just to unload the stroller. At that point its pointless to wait becasue another tram could be there by the time this person is ready to board.

Re: Wait for me!
Blast that dang dispatch interval!
That's one good thing with trains and Mono... "When the bell starts ringing
we have to leave! OH! There it is now! Buh bye."
Those SUV strollers with the screening room in the lower level are the worst.
Why they bring half the kids room along with them just boggles the mind.

If you ever stop and ask yourself: "How do they dress themselves?"
Congratulations and welcome to my world.

Re: Wait for me!
Theres nothing better than watching a guest chase a tram thats leaving! especially when they can see the other tram pulling in!
I always go with the quantum physics theory when asked why a tram didn't wait....
Ya see.. Only one tram can occupy a given space at a given time if two trams were to try and occupy that same space at the same time it would be kaos! That is why we have to adhear to strick time schedules and leave you behind! ;)
I accually had a woman come running up to my tram as we were departing stand on the back of the tram and yell at her 4-5yr. old daughter to run. I asked her to wait for the next tram (that was directly behind us BTW) and she told me "we ran so we could ride this one!" mind you her daughter is still a good 20-30 ft. away.. she finally gets off I clear the tram for the second time and as we are leaving she jumps on dragging her daughter by the arm yelling at her to "hurry up" with her little feet dragging on the ground! needless to say I had the driver stop the tram, approach her and tell her that if she is in such a big hurry that she needs to endanger her childs life that maybe she should just walk to the main entrance and I tell her that the tram will not leave with her on it! (yet another thing I enjoy doing when guests try to catch a moving tram, give them a safe alterative.. WALKING!) As I am doing this the other guests within earshot are clapping and generally agreeing with me.. as she gets off the tram and we depart she shouts "enjoy your power trip!"

Re: Wait for me!
Boy, this is so common at the CaroSeussel at IOA. We have to get so many dispatches every hour so I usually open the gate, do my spiel and then close the gate when I'm done. I'll walk around it for my safety check and then I come back around and there is always someone with their kids running up the line wanting to get on. I tell them to wait because I have already done my safety check. Then I hear them bitch, but they still have to wait. Why do people think I am going to wait just for them? The ride is only like 2 minutes long, then them and their precious can ride the stupid thing. I love the ones that say "But someone I know is already on there!" Like that is somehow going to change the situation. If I kept letting people on and just waited for it to fill up before I started it then I would have like maybe 3 dispatches an hour, that is how slow that ride is.
Guest: What time does the park close?
Me: 5 minutes ago.
Guest: Are there any rides still open?
Me: No, the park's closed.
Guest: So, there's no rides still open?
I'm so glad I'm just seasonal!!!

Re: Wait for me!
"Wait for me" also seems to be common at park closing. Once I close a line, that's it. I'm nice enough to close the line slowly, but once it's closed, then you can have a good night.
"Oh, but I came all the way from {insert location here} to ride this!"
"It's been open since 9am. It'll open at 9am tomorrow."

Guest: "How fast does this go?"
Me: "88 mph"
Guest: "Which row is the least wet?"
Me: "Row 6." (There are only 5 rows in the boat)
