Yup CP=College Program you work at WDW for college credit I believe. Thought about it for a bit. Then said "Why do I want to go to florida for a semester to do something I already do"

lol, yeah I was thinking of being a CP once I transfer to UF, but then I figured why be a CP and deal with the same drama all over again. You MAY earn college credit by taking some classes if it is accepted by the institution. CP is more like slave labor for college students, and party when you are not working.

The College Program is only good if you plan on working for Disney because they seem to use those people for their positions. For most employers in Florida putting the College Program on your reseume will hurt you. It has a reputation for the partying, and that most of the participants are only looking for sex, and drugs. I don't think that the drugs part is necessarly true, but it has earned that reputation. Outside of Florida the Collge Progam is not an advantage, regardless of what the recruiters say. Many of the participants are placed into jobs that have nothing to do with their degrees, and most schools will not give credit for going on the program. Unless a manager was on the program they hate the evaluation that they have to do each time that they leave, when the school requires it, and would rather have people that aren't temporary. Many of the people in the training depatment that I knew when I was there didn't like what it did to the training budget. Furthermore it is rumored that Disney, after the tax breaks that they get, the amount of rent that they take out of the check, and possibly corporate kick backs only pay the CPs something like $1.50/hour. I just wonder who is getting that $5/hour for each CP.

I personally disagree. Every interview I've ever been on, we have ended up talking about my CP experience. A recruiter I once worked with said that several of their staff members were former CPs and that they usually do take note when they see the WDWCP on someone's résumé, as to them it means that the applicant most likely already has great people skills and the guest service skills which are both so important to so many positions today (this being in sales & marketing, outside of FL).

Being a cp is good for thoes who want to come back and work for disney or one of their companies in the future. I would not suggest it for anyone who is majoring in dental hygiene. The reason the college program has the reputation that it does is because there are many people who come down here to party and are not looking to get their foot in the door. They are the ones who leave early or are asked to leave. It is the survivors of the program, who are the ones that started it in the first place with the right intentions.

Besides, many people ride the trams twice in their visit...first and last. Which makes them more popular than any attraction inside the parks. :D:

Well, I don't know about out in CA, but here in FL, technically speaking, when I worked turnstyles, I was classified as an attractions cast member, which would make the turnstyles an attraction ... which means that the turnstyles are the most popular attraction, because everyone HAS to go through them at least twice.

(and also, parking trams are considered transportation, I think ... or at least the CMs are classified as transportation, rather than attractions ... it's all very confusing)
