I've had a few guests myself, in stores, that have paid me a compliment, but they never seem to be the type who actually go fill out the paperwork at guest relations. I don't think a lot of guests know about it.

the problem is that you, unlike other CMs I've known apparently don't make sure that guests know they can leave compliments at city hall.

good job.

With all due respect, I don't feel the need to presume that if the guest liked my 'performance' that much that I can direct them to guest services just to make myself feel better by getting a copy of their compliment. It should be more about enjoying the interaction with a guest who made your day/evening, or seeing the smile on their face because you've helped make their day more magical.

I tried leaving CM compliments with Guest Relations (at a resort, not City Hall), and the poor CM didn't know what to do with me -- like she'd never heard of anyone trying to leave a compliment! I hope she was very new -- I'd hate to think you guys get complimented so rarely!

(She suggested I write a letter after I returned home, which I did. It was actually much simpler than stopping by GR each day of my trip, and I got a nice follow-up call letting me know that each CM and their supervisor had been informed of my comments.)

and I wholeheartedly agree with that, it's always irked me when people pull out a map and show them where to go, or grab a comment card to hand to the guest. it's plain tacky in my opinion, I'm sorry if I sounded like I was being snide or sarcastic.

Right, but what if someone asks were GR is to make the comment/compliment...is it still wrong or tacky?

At resort guest services, yep - it's rare that someone would want to take the time to leave a compliment...at least in my experience. So nice to hear that you took the time when you got back home to write about your experience. At least that way it gets documented in the CM's employee file. :)

Not in my book, it's not tacky. If the guest is doing this of their own free will, because they want to do so, then by all means...

not at all in my book. but there've been times where a guest says "thanks, that was funny" and the reply was "make sure to stop by city hall and tell them that, it's the brick building on the right hand side as you exit the park, and don't forget my name is john." (name changed to protect someone not named john.) while it worked I just felt it wasn't right.

That's when you go up to the CM, look at him or her for a second square in the eye...then slap them and simply walk away humming "Zip-A-De-Do-Da"

While waiting to load the next group into the line for Studio C (normally to a child)

You know, without even looking for a second, I can tell you that *point to their feet* your socks are untied.

Not so much a speil but still, a lot of fun when it works right (Which is 99.9 percent of the time)

And yeah, I've even gotten it to work with people who are wearing sandels or flip flops....

Also:

Ok guys, take either row, top or bottom. If you take the top...watch out for the trap door. (You'd be surprised how many people really look for it)
