However, there are only FOUR people on this site that have the power to decide that. Those people are CujoSR, Zazu, Weeble, and myself.
GMC crossed the line by telling goose not to post things like that, Zazu told him to stop, and he did. If you are not a SGT Moderator or Administrator, telling another user that they shouldn't have posted something, even if it did cross the line, crosses that exact same line. If you have a problem with a post, you need to utilize the "report" link in the upper right corner of every post. The Mods and Admins will be alerted and we will then decide the correct course of action.

Now in case anyone forgot, the topic is busybody CM's. And I would hope that the topic returns to busybody CM's, otherwise I'd have to close the thread, and I hate closing threads.
Do you know any busybody CM's?

"Can I have a map?"
"Where is the restroom?"
"Do you work here?"

"Do you work here?"
Re: Do you know any busybody CM's?
i don't know the answer to that, but i've never refused a statement, because certain things do need to be brought into light, and the only way for that to happen is for it to be put into writing, besides it's usually the union steward telling me to write.

There are a few people in custodial who feel that it's their duity to report anything they see wrong to management. But, I'm not gonna go into any specific names.

Hello all! I am new to this site. A Transport CM? told me about it. I have got two things to say about this.
#1- I have a 4 yo son. When we took him to WDW, and he saw a CM look at their cellphone, he said " THIS IS ALL FAKE! I HATE THIS PLACE! " and burst into tears. He compleatly believed what he was seeing was real. ( I dont remember what section we were in, but I do remember it was somewhere that cell phones were not appropriate ) This in turn RUINED not only his day, but our day too. Enough said.
#2 - I work as a fire-medic for Reedy Creek Devolopment District, a sub for Disney, and we respond to more guest injuries due to CM neglegence. I wish there was something that could fix that. I recently resopnded to a head injury to a 3 y/o with a serious head injury due to a CM not paying attention and ran into him on a steep hill. ( Coming out of The Land to be exact; Large concrete hill ) He rolled 3 feet down the hill, ending up with SEVERE head injurys. He spent 3 days in the ICU at ORMC. This would have been prevented had two CMs not been " Walking & Talkin" Now Im not saying that this is going to happen every time every where, but most of the time, the CM are not paying full attention to their surroundings. Thanks for your time!!!

Wow, that situation is awful, but "most of the time"? Sounds like a bit of an exaggeration.disneyfireman wrote:Now Im not saying that this is going to happen every time every where, but most of the time, the CM are not paying full attention to their surroundings.

Well, on the lighter side, there is annoying combined with busybody. I don't know if he's still there, but he had to have been in his 50's when I was in my late 20's. Think Hank Hill with no redeeming qualities. Anyway, I can remember a bunch of us from the Westside being down in the DEC enjoying our lunch, and he came through with a tray. The place was packed, and there were about a dozen fun people at our table, and this guy asked if he could sit with us. We all said "NO!" and meant it, but he just laughed and said "oh you kids," and sat down anyway, then proceeded to hijack every conversation we were trying to maintain. That was one time you thanked your lucky stars for the shorter lunch period.
I never could figure out how someone could be so oblivious to the fact that he was unliked and unwelcome, not just on this particular day, but every effin' day he was at work!

Hi disneyfireman. Welcome to SGT site! Cell phones are NEVER appropriate on stage. Every CM knows this fact. May have been a new hire or an accident - as in CM was turning cell off. No CM I know would dare show his cell on stage, tho I have seen a few on belt clips. Am sure they will be told to pocket to cell
Now as far as CMs acting in a negligent manner; there are exceptions but I firmly feel most of us @ DLR & WDW would do anything to avoid an accident! I've seen CMs catch falling guests, clear wider paths, hold children, catch strollers, give extra help when not asked, & the list of safety/caring toward our guests goes on. I'll politely disagree with you & proudly state MOST Cast Members are very aware of their surroundings & pay attention to time, weather, area, curbs, walkways, guest's dress, behavior,& a multitude of other factors the average guest will never know. We are taught safety from day one & on. I believe CMs pay far more attention than most give us credit. You would never believe the accidents we somehow avert daily throughout our shifts. Soap box put away. Will get ready for Grad Night knowing full well grads never pay attention to anything

He burst into tears because he saw a cast member look at his phone? It really ruined your day too? So instead of calming your kid down and enjoying the rest of your day at the park, you walked around fuming mad the entire day? Wow. I wonder if really tragic things actually ruin your day. You know like the tsunami disaster, the war in Iraq, children with cancer, that sort of thing? Just curious....

Re: Do you know any busybody CM's?
I'm just really curious how a cell phone is any more out of theme than a digital watch. Until I got my pocket watch batteries replaced, I used my cell phone as my watch (I hate wearing wristwatches), so I'd often pull my cell phone out of my pocket and had to open it a little bit to get the time to display. I don't see this as inappropriate at all.
Of course, actually talking on a cell phone except for emergencies is inappropriate, but simply holding one is hardly going to ruin the show.

Im just courious, Do you have kids? Cause if you do, you know that even one thing can ruin the day. HES 4!! Imagine 2 days at a park in the heat, not enough sleep, etc. He's cranky! So that incident ruined his day. I had a great time, as did my wife. And yes, we do care about things that happen around the world. In fact, this is my third year running the Disney Triathlon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. So yes we do concern ourselves with the world. Thanks for you post!
