My Favorite SCMT Story

Post by PirateJohn » Wed Aug 03, 2005 6:49 pm

If anyone at DL remembers Bob from Security several years ago (if you have to ask "which Bob?" then you don't know who I'm talking about) I have the best Stupid Cast Member Trick of all time.

When the construction for the new Tomorrowland was going on back in 97 or 98, I was in a department in which I worked a lot of graveyards. One night, I showed up for work at about 11:30 or 12:00 at night, and Bob was there at the gate.

On his way out was a contractor with about $1000 worth of tools in front of him. Bob wouldn't let the guy leave with the tools. Apparently, the guy had brought them in for the week and signed the form declaring them when he came in.

Unfortunately, the form was signed on Monday, and they are taken and filed every night, so Bob had no access to the form proving the tools actually belonged to the guy. What is more, the Security office where the forms were kept wer closed at night, so there was no way to retreive the form.

So Bob suggested the guy put them in a locker. Nope, can't do that because the guy didn't have a locker -- he was a contractor, not a CM. So he suggested that the guy find someone to hold them. Nope, it was almost midnight on a Friday and nobody with whom the guy was working was left in the park.

So Bob refused to allow the guy to leave with his own tools.

I didn't stick around to find out how the whole scenario panned out.

I remember Bob!! He was so cool. Lived 6 blocks from him. Bob went by the book but was always more than fair if he trusted a CM ]
