Misunderstanding the Photo Process

Ah the Test Track Photopass system! Yes, that is brilliantly designed and imagineered by people who need to learn how to test what they design and build before they implement the system. It is 100% completely not Guest compatible. That's why there needs to be a Photopass photographer there at all times.

There are 4 monitors that have timers counting down til when the picture disappears...often mistaken by the guest as the picture number.
(there's my picture, it's number 23...no number 18... um, like, that's a timer not a picture number.) There are placards under each screen that should be understood as the monitor number. When I ask, "Which one is your photo?" All I get is, "That one."

Other annoyances about that location...Almost 2 times a minute I hear somebody shout, "Look at my face!".
The close proximity to the guest means that I am constantly being breathed on by their obnoxious bad breath.
They don't decide until the last 5 seconds of their 40 second timer that they want to add the picture to a photopass card they already have and take an extra half minute digging it out of their pocket.

People still can't understand that when you take a picture of a TV monitor and your flash is on, it will glare.

I suggest this is how the Photopass ride system photos should work...
Push a button and a ticket comes out (similar to the Fast Pass tickets) that indicate the Ride, Date, and (yes) a Photo number that the Guest can take to the Photopass center to have their photo added to their photopass card. This will eliminate having to pay for a photopass photographer at the location.

Oh when will Disney ever ask it's CM's for advice on how things should work? We are the one's who have to translate all the problems into Magic.

I don't know if it's still done but when I used to do edit room for Splash and Space, every time we deleted a picture we had to write down the time, log or rocket number, why it was deleted (obscene gesture, food or drink, arm/leg hanging out of vehicle, etc.), and the offending person's location on the vehicle.

Wait, so the picture can be deleted from someone eating/drinking? That's interesting...I rode Splash once, and when I went past the picture display monitors, there was a picture of one guy in a log all by himself, drinking a bottle of water.

I remember it very clearly, because he was in quite a hilarious position, too, as if he knew exactly what he was doing...

Pictures are supposed to be deleted if they show any behavior that's prohibited on the ride, which includes eating and drinking.

I did photo edit for ToT in Florida lo these many years ago, and the strangest thing I saw was someone who brought her tiny DOG onto the ride. I don't know how she got past the ride operators, let alone the front gate. (This was in 1997, well before bag inspections, but still.) I can't imagine what on Earth made her think it was a good idea to bring her dog on the ride!

The new scam is people getting "certification" that their dog is a therapy or serice dog. They want to take their pet with them, go figure. Service dogs are not allowed on Tower of Terror however. It is easy to get past a CM by having the dog in a large tote bag.
