Yeah I speak Disney speak inside and outside work. My parents and my boyfriend now know how to translate what I say into normal english. In most cases we abbreviate Attractions to 1 or 2 at the most words. IE Mansion, Pirates, Splash, Space, Steam Trains, Small World, Book....etc. Its easier and less things to say.

The thing that is the hardest for me is telling guests to go to the hub or the partner's statue. I know these terms and to describe them to a guest I have ot use more words.

We joke about calling 2200 (DL matience) for things like Internet not working, car broken or things like that. You know its bad when you use codes like 101 in everyday speech.

Yeah, I'm starting to pick up on a lot of it now, but damn...and I've even caught myself already using abbreviations on guests too...some of them are so stupid though that even if you used plain jane english with them, they would still not understand...have you ever had a guest that was SO stupid that you had to bite your tongue in order to not say "Wow, you're really dumb you know?"
A couple days ago I was working Goofy's Bounce House and there was an entire bounce house full of children that spoke solely Spanish and I was trying to explain the rules to them and all I was getting was blank stares--and of course the first thing they did when they got in there was break little ol' rule number one--no jumping off of Goofy's stairs--and one would think that since NO is the same thing in Spanish as it is in English that when I said NO to quite a few of them when the jumped they would get the freaking idea, but nope, they would climb back up there and look me RIGHT in the eyes as I said no and they jumped again...I swear i wanted to slap them, but then I would also be out of a job, huh? But it was tempting....if only they were MY kids...heh, but then they wouldn't speaka espanol either... :eek: :aliens:

:flamethro Wow, do you KNOW how dumb you are?

When I worked Goofy's and the Acorn Piss, I had absolutely no qualms about kicking kids out. I'd basically stand right between them and the pit so the only place they could go would be the exit, and just slowly but surely usher them out.

I saw this one in another reply here on this topic so I will correct it.
Given that most of the terms were mostly WDW related. . .
TOT= Theater of the Stars (The real term is actually TOTS)
Tower=Tower of Terror

While it doesn't seem to make much sense or a big deal. Stars has been around a lot longer than tower, hence why it gets that term over Tower.

Heh, I guess it's a Sunset Cast thing. . .most of you wouldn't understand ;)
