Slow Days at Small World

Post by SmallWorldGuy76 » Tue Jun 28, 2005 2:17 pm

Here is another fun tale about my trials and tribulations of working at Small World:

It is early in the day or close to closing time, there is NOBODY in line and you get some guests (example group of 4-6) and you give them rows 2 and 3 for balance. Suddenly, it's "but we want the front row!" No can do because you are the only ones in line and we need balance. Plus, this is your own boat.
"Oh, then we'll wait, then!"

:pissed: I want so much to say, "JUST GET IN THE DAMN BOAT AND SHUT UP!!"

Another instance, a group of APs (of course) demanded that they get the front row when I had them wait for their own boat. Their reply was, "We ALWAYS get in the front and you are the FIRST person to say no!" My reason for saying no was that they were the only ones in line and I wanted to give them their own boat! So, with an axe to grind, I had a party that HAD their own boat take row 5 while these spoiled passholes were given row one. I wanted so bad to scream at the top of my lungs at that moment. And worse of all, they didn't even say "thank you".

YOU'RE WELCOME....

I also hated when people were given the middle sections of the boat for balance and their boat comes back with people sitting in the front fow. Can you say, "STAY IN YOUR SEATS?" I actually told some people off about moving to row one when they weren't supposed to. They just looked at me like was crazy.

Goodness, I can go on and on about the stories involving guests on Small World.......

Same thing happens at Pirates.

The "we'll wait" is the one that really gets me. You'll wait for WHAT? Tomorrow?

You know, when it's slow you have time to explain the concept of "balanced boat" to them. It's easier at Pirates when you explain that we had a boat that was too back heavy go through the wall at the turn of the bottom of drop one many years ago (when we switched to the larger boats) and the old "front heavy boat floods" - which is true. And since so many of the guests seem to think of H²O as an annoying inconvenience, those types can usually be persuaded to stay in the middle when you remind them that there is no one around to block their view.

*mutters" Isn't that the point of having your own boat, you doltish guest, you?"*

my fav was when the grouper placed me on the right side with row 1 2 3 me in 4 and 5 were all very overweight guys, tilting the boat and then flooding the seats and floor of that side after the first drop, when having to push up on your legs then being told to sit down the whole ride though. talk about a unbalanced boat, alittle side heavy.
