Re: Thoughts on Working GC on the 50th
I was in the park like a crazy person and i felt so bad for my friends that i saw workin gthe GC for fireowrks and the parade. I understand that everything is new so there really is now way of getting around "traffic jams" of all sorts for the first month or so. Hang in there everyone. You're doing great!!!

"Guest Control" or "get cookies", unfortunately it's almost always the former. :(

Lol I worked it tonight funny how the event shift turned into pure fireworks gc. It was ok sure did have to work for the money and the cooky APs were out in FULL force today like i've never seen. I actually had one come up to me and some coworkers with a printout from city hall listing all the "hidden" 50s and went on and on and on to us about how he could only count 12 50s on the lamps on main street whereas the printout lists 13 and blah blah blah. Oh and the castle forecourt seating area was full for the fireworks at around 6pm. Its going to be crazy for the fireworks everyday but not having those tents in the hub sure will help. Main street was completely full around 8:30 this evening.

I agree with all these sentiments. I knew it would be bad, realized how bad when I walked to the Inn Between about an hour before the 2nd parade and the entire route from Book to the Hub was filled. I can't tell you how many angry people there were when it was like 5 minutes before the parade and they couldn't find a spot. Amazingly though there were quite a few that were really cool about it. They were just here on vacation, I kept getting asked if the same parade was going to happen tomorrow. I guess cause there were so many people trying to see it all the vacationers thought it was like a one time thing or something. I told them all to get lunch/dinner an hour or two before the parade starts and sit along the route eating and relaxing, only way they'll be able to see it through the weekend cause I'm sure that parade and fireworks viewing will be in insane this entire weekend. Luckily I'm not working book so I don't have to work the parade, but I do have to close most of Fantasyland for the fireworks, it should be interesting. :)
