Ok, I got a couple of stories dealing with lines. First one, I'm in Mickey's house and for those that may have never been, there's four rows where people line up and then there's a straight shot on the side to the door with a rope at the end where guests walk by. That's there for when there's no line and it also serves as our GAC line. So, it's the middle of the afternoon and there's a pretty big line, 3 rows are full and these two little girls come under the rope, not a big deal happens all the time, I look up and see mom who looks like she's about to come under, again not really a big deal, there's a door with a big exit sign everyone thinks they can exit out of, one problem though, it leads backstage. So, I look at her and tell her where she can exit and she points to the door that leads to Mickey. At this point I've dealt with like 5 guests in the last 5 minutes that I've had to redirect so I'm annoyed and my only reaction is to point at the line. I then go through the door to vent (there's no guests in the next room except for a few seconds right before they see Mickey) I come back out and the girls are there. I send them back repeating where the exit is. This happens about 3 or 4 times, finally I send the girls back again and one of them says, "we wanna go in there" and mom replies, "this lady doesn't want us to go in there for some reason" Now during this time where the girls keep coming down, I've been opening the door and letting people FROM THE LINE into the room. I was pissed by this point and I go up to her and say, "I don't care if you go in there, but you see all this people, they have been waiting in line to go in and if you want to go in, you have to wait in line also" She then says to the girls, "do you really want to go in there?" And then they left, thank god. I'm not even sure if they knew what was in the door, so I waited a little longer than usual to give my informative spiel that says what people are waiting for and where the exit is, to make sure they wouldn't hear me and then change their mind and come back.
Wow that story doesn't sound that long when I tell it. :)
Ok, I promised two, here we go. The Snow White show is letting in and a woman tries to come under the ropes and the CM of course doesn't let her. They go back and forth a couple of times then she demands to speak to a manager. She starts going off on our lead talking about how this employee is awful (she's one of our nicest CMs) because the CM wanted her to wait in line. She then proceeds to tell the lead how they had to wait in line to get a ticket, to get in, to go on rides, and now this awful person wants them to wait in line again. We were laughing like mad when we heard the story backstage.
Oh and btw, after all her complaining, she still got like third row, even after the entire line came in.

Re: lines
We have line issues at Splash Photo, they are always hoping the rope so that they don't have to walk around. Alot of the CM's raise their voice (as opposed to yelling) and tell them to go around. My personal belief is that if they cut (go over the rope while others are walking around) then they should be sent to the end and the others helped first. If they are the only ones there then no worries.
For the last time, yes the birds are real...
