CMs, I Feel Your Pain... Or..Holy &!@# People Are Dumb
everywhere. I cannot even comprehend how you do it, but you guys deserve medals. As acounseling major, people watching is part of what I do anyway, but I was overwhelmed with how stupid people were at the parks. Here are some of my observed 'Plays of the Day"
-Ok, so some attraction was not up and running and there is a line of guests, and EACH ONE asks the CM the same freakin question!!!! I walked by and could hear the CM telling all the morons the same answer, "The attraction is temporarily down, please check back later." It was almost like the guests had to hear it for themselves. Or perhaps they thought if THEY asked, the CM would be like, "Oh, it's you Bob, right this way, everyone else can wait..." Eesh!
Then there was this tool and his family that were in line behind be at Splash and the guy was crying to the CM that they wouldn't all be in the same boat. The CM rocked!! He told the guy, "Sir, I never told you all to line up by yourself, you should have waited for me." The guy was like, uh, blah blah uh, excuse excuse, blah blah..
Oww, it hurts my head to even think about. Anyways, you guys are amazing that you don't gun down people there..

Trust me, the only way to stay sane at Disneyland is to laugh. It's either that or really gun down everybody! I'll give you an example from a couple of days ago:
We give out these things called Shopping Passes. They let you inside a park for an hour; if you are not back at the Guest Services window by the end of the hour, you get charged for a one day ticket (you need a valid credit card and a photo ID to get one). We stop giving them out a hour before Guest Services closes, because obviously, they would not get their full hour or have enough time if we close in a half-hour, or ten minutes.
So this night, we were near close, and a guest came up to me, looking to get a shopping pass. When I refused her and explained why, she asked me, "Well, isn't there a way we can just drive into Disneyland and pick up this costume for our little boy? We are really in a hurry!"
AAAAAAA :throw:

Ive got one for you
The best is regarding Disney's Fastpass. It's always one of two things, and i've combatted both of them.
**The guest has a 5:00pm Fastpass and comes back at 4:50pm to use it. "Awww, but can't you just let me in 10 minutes early. I've already waited an hour to go on!" No, dimwit, I won't. We DO issue Fastpasses for 4:50pm, and it just so happens that you didn't get one during the time we handed them out at. To get in at 4:50pm you must have a 4:50pm or earlier Fastpass! How hard is that? If you were allowed to get in whenever you pleased, the system wouldn't really work now, would it? Really...And about waiting an hour to use your pass? You'll walk right on the ride most the time while people in stand-by when you got that Fastpass are STILL WAITING as you bypass them in line! Get over it.
**This line is Fastpass? It's so long, it looks more like a slowpass. Well, go ahead and choose for yourself: wait in the 5 minute FP line or choose the 1hr30min stand-by line that looks shorter because it wraps around to queues you haven't seen! haha nice try. :o

You know we have always heard about postal workers going nuts.. the day a WDW or DL CM it will be scary.
There are more hiding places in the Orlando parks that I can count, I'm sure it must be very similar with the Anaheim ones too

i don't know how long you've been there but i just quit and i remember all that stuff. lol.
ask one of your leads about holiday. that's fastpass hell!! they will ask you twenty times over that same question. so what i did (cuz im only 5'5") was stand on the planter and yell to them all, "if you don't form a line over here to wait for your fastpass time to be called, the fire marshall will come over here and shut us down. then no one will be able to ride this attraction! so form a line!" oh and be nice and say thank you. it really works. cuz for some reason they HAVE TO RIDE THE HAUNTED MANSION TO SEE JACK SKELLINGTON. ever have problems with those mansion freaks that come to disney just to ride it, and they take your picture and use all the dl lingo. like er and 101 and stuff? ew!

I had a guest ask me if they could take the matterhorn over to the DLH for their priority seating arrangement at Goofy's Kitchen!!! I've also been asked to personally bring up a couple glasses of warm milk.
