If it were an option, I might have done so, but it was a pulldown menu, not a text field. Actually, there were a number of favorites of mine from Universal that weren't listed. (I was going to pick Brazil, as a bit of a dig at the big boss there, but ended up choosing Apollo 13...)

Believe it or not, it's to help engage the guest in conversation.

It does work. Sadly they don't do it here, I wish they did.

I'm not a tourist cause I work there...

Brazil would have been a great pick. If Disney ever did this same thing, I wonder how many CM's would pick Song of the South for similar reasons?

Fantasyland Classics at Disneyland, CA:

We had two cast members working together at Dumbo. One was named Mickey, and the other was Donald!

I was laughing the whole way to Dumbo, cuz I had to bumb Mickey to lunch!

One of my (male) co-workers was wearing a "Yolanda" nametag the other day.

(I sometimes wish more people would wear wrong nametags ... We have 5 or 6 people named either John or some variation thereof (jonathon, jonathan, jon, etc), and all of them wear the correct nametag)

Wow, I think the weirdest thing I ever did with a name tag was when I let a friend borrow mine.

He's also from Miami and his was locked in his car. So for a day he was Kat from Miami with the Spanish language flag.

A manager at my store lost her name tag and was wearing a "Thelma" tag when I went in the other day. She told me she was waiting for Louise to show up.

Man do I have name tag stories!

First of all I know a Khan from China. He works in Culinary at Port Orleans Riverside. We started work on the same day.

I've been Yardonos from Ethiopia. I told guests I was an albino if they asked. I've also been Jeff, Will and Scott. I'm a girl. My real name's Larkin, so I get plenty of questions about that.
It says Eastern Washington University on it, and you would not believe how many people I have this conversation with:
Them: Where's Eastern Washington University?
Me: In Eastern Washington.
Them (Offended): Yes, but where in Washington?
Me: Do you know where Cheney is?
Them: No.
Me: Do you know where Spokane is?
Them: No.
Me: Then it's in Eastern Washington.

Can't wait till I go back and I'm not a CP and I get to put a real city on there.

When I was Scott, I was from Ojoblanca, FL. It turns out it was a Chef's name tag, and he has this... condition or something where half of his eyelashes are white, so his name tag is actually a made up city which traslates from Spanish to "white eye."

My friend Mark lost his name tag, so he took his roomate who self terrmed one night, and he would introduce himself to deploys as Hector, and the deploys would get so confused because everyone would call him Mark, but they thought his name was Hector.

Lastly, one time, when it was very, very slow, but we had a full Cast, there were five of us hanging out in Bakery. This guest approached us and asked me if I was wearing my real name tag. I was, but I thought it was a strange question, so I kinda laughed before I answered that yes, it was mine. He decided that since I laughed, that I was lying. There was one girl there who didn't have a name tag on at all, and he proceeded to ask each one of us if we were wearing our real names. Only one of us wasn't. We then got a 20 minute lecture from this guest who told us how disrespectful it was to wear the wrong name tag.

The best we could figure is that he called a Cast Member by the wrong name, and they corrected him and he was embarassed.

elle.

Ok, let's see... I've been Chris (which is my middle name, but the tag belonged to a female lead of mine), Antwone (another lead of mine), Angel (my very white skin prevented me from pulling this one off, the tag actually said Angela, but I covered the "a" with a piece of paper), John (this was the closest to my actual name, since mine is the Scottish version), etc.

The problem I've always had is, even though my name is only three letters most people can't pronounce it. Or if they hear it, they can't spell it. They couldn't even get it right on my social security card. Evidently the person who read the application had never heard of "Ian" so now I'm "Ivan" :oweye:

Anyways, I found a tag in the K Lot which said "Saphap"... don't know whatever happened to it
