My turn...

Subject: My turn...

Well...I've been putting it off posting for a little while now and I
figure that I just couldn't hold this one back any longer.

A few months ago during the off season I was working on the popcorn
wagon over by the Matterhorn. It was approx. 3PM in the afternoon on
a week day and a guest came up to ask me one of the best stupid
questions that someone has asked to this date. "Excuse me, has the
Main Street Electrical Parade started yet?" she asked. I stood there
stunned for a moment before I realized that she was expecting an
answer, never mind the fact that it was currently broad daylight and
the parade only ran over at DCA on the weekends. After I pulled
myself out of shock I relayed that information to her in your
typical CM manner by saying "Sorry not tonight, it will run this
weekend over at Disney's California Adventure though." "Oh." was all
she said as she walked away. I spent the next part of my shift
silently (and a few times not so silently) laughing at mental images
of a daytime Electrical Parade.

As this summer progresses the resort population will increase and
with that the number of "stupid guest tricks" will increase as well.
I invite you to share your stupid guest tricks to the group as they
occur this summer so that all of us can use the humor to get us
through this peak season. When the topic arises at work please
spread the word about this group, the more stories we have here the
more interesting this summer will prove to be.

I worked at DLR (when it was just DL, no R) at the Emporium. So of course, we were asked all sorts of questions.

The guest ASKING the question never heard the question or the answer quite as clearly as the person behind them in line.

Guest question? Yea... "What time does the 9:00 parade start?" The answer? "8:50" "Thank you."

Person behind them says "huh?"

So then the CM must explain.... It starts at 8:50 at Small World...gets to Main Street at 9.

I'm sure we've all had this but here goes:

Guests continually come up to me asking me about the "night-time parade". I tell them that they have to go to DCA to see it and I've been yelled at a few times cuz of it. Yay.................... :duh:

"I have a stupid question for you."

"Can I have a map?"

"Where is the restroom?"

"Do you work here?"

This isn't my story, it happened to one of my friends...

It was a really really bad rainy day. She is doing PR in front of StoryBook Land. A lady walks up and asks. Are you guys open?

Response:No, unfortunately due to the heavy rain we can't operate Storybook today.

Question: Oh, so it's because of the rain?

Response: Yes, ma'am, that is correct.

Question: So what time are you turning the rain off?

MY RESPONSE: THERE'S YOUR SIGN!

Listen. If EPCOT can manage to do a DAY TIME FULL FIREWORKS SHOW, then they can also manage to pull off a daytime electrical parade.

A good photograph means knowing where to stand
