ever been "fired" by a guest?
2 years ago, i was working the DCA package express window (which is now the lost & found window) when this guy comes up demanding a band-aid. I told him I couldn't give him one, but he said a security guard sent him to guest relations to get one, an obvious lie. So i told him guest relations is the next window over. The guy gets into a verbal argument with the guest relations cast member who was closing his window at the time, yelling all kinds of 4-letter words, threatening to sue, blah blah blah. The guest relations cast member sent him away, so he came back to me and yelled "That guy is an a-hole, i want a band-aid, my wife is bleeding." I tell him again I can't give him one. He then asked for my name. I politely pointed to my nametag and gave my first name. Then he yelled "all right, you're FIRED!" and stormed off.
anyone else ever get "fired" by a guest?

I once watched a guest get really upset because we wouldn't let him back into an theater after a show was over. My coworker was trying to handle the guy and the guy kept going on about how he was going to complain and get Tim fired. The real fun began when he demanded Tim's name and then kept accusing him of lying and giving him a false name. Tim's name is Tim Allen.
(This was while "Home Improvement" was a top show.)

I used to love when people would demand to know my name. I'd always get a confused look on my face, stare down at my nametag and say, "It's...ummm, uh..." And then, when they'd demand my last name I'd say, "I'm sorry, we're not allowed to give our last names, to protect us from crazy people and stalkers."

You mean you wore your REAL name? I rarely did. My nametags kept breaking (Disney use cheap glue?? Never!) and the guys in costuming thought it'd be funny to order my name tag with a different month on it, my name being April. So I spent most of my years as June or May. In fact, I don't think I have an April name tagDante101 wrote:I used to love when people would demand to know my name. I loved pissing off the already pissed off. I only got busted once for it and had to spend 2 weeks in another department.
I had a friend who always lost or forgot his nametag, so he always wore the spare nametags that they had in our shop. He ended up wearing MAN several times I think until he lost that one, too.BB Blueyes wrote:You mean you wore your REAL name? I rarely did.

I used to love wearing fake tags too. You can use your middle name for your tag which is fine if you are a caucasian (billy ray, emma sue etc) but for a hispanic causing panic like me...well let's just say many people referred to me as Munoz for a while. I also still have an Elvis name tag, Tyrone, Hung, Alf, Alff, Alfredd, Alfreddd amongst others.
