As far as I know, parodies are protected under the "fair use" doctrine.
However, if you're using another company's designs to make profit (like the websites I posted) without permission, then that would be illegal.

Re: party entertainment companies - copyright violations?
I've heard it's possible to report copyright problems by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. If enough people report these companies, Disney will probably hit them like a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick to the face. :p:

party entertainment companies - copyright violations?
I've noticed that there are many children's entertainment companies which offer characters that appear at children's parties. Many of those characters are obviously based on Disney's versions. Examples: http://www.fairy-tale-fantasies.com/character.htm http://www.tealightfulparties.com/PrincessChara...

Re: Interesting Versions Of Disney Music
There's a rather risqué version of A Whole New World floating around on the Internet. I probably shouldn't say more, LOL.

Re: Belle, Snow, Cindy and Aurora
Well if Guests would just learn to interact with them, rather than treat them like picture/autograph Robots, I'm sure they would try to do things like that more often. I think the main problem is that many people feel more awkward interacting with face characters. We often see photos of children (a...

Re: Scary Regulars
This is quite an interesting thread. I find it rather cool how some - let's say, "diverse" - guests are given nicknames and seem to have unique themes, just like in comic books. (For example, Winslow Schott is a toy-themed supervillain and is given the nickname "Toyman.")

Sleeping Beauty 50th anniversary events?
The 50th anniversary of Sleeping Beauty is just around the corner, and a special DVD edition is going to be released in several weeks. So, I have a two questions for you guys: 1. Do you think Disney is going to host any special events in the parks to commemorate this? 2. Brainstorming topic: What ki...

Re: Hands off the Princesses
I think that the park policies should be made more clear. I don't know if the policies are different for each park, but from what I've heard, guests are not allowed to kiss face characters on the cheek (I think one on the hand is acceptable if the character allows it). However, I've seen pictures of...

Re: An evergrowing list of silly/funny/dumb questions asked by WDW guests!
I have a question, what is the reason given to why Mickey and the other fur characters never talk except during shows while the princesses and other face characters do? I know the characters and their attendants have to be asked that at least every once in a while. I'm not a CM, but I guess you cou...
