Re: Fourth of July Monorail Incident
Allears has posted a nicely written tribute, but what really caught my eye was the photo collage created by one of their readers. :WARNING: The collage is beautifully done and I found it to be quite moving. It does contain a photo of Austin. CMs, especially monorail, may wish to stay away. Tribute ...

Re: Fire at Epcot
Guys. Read the threads. The fire was in 2002 at 3 am and it was a smoke fire. It was in the papers. I remember the fire, it was at the FLP power station backstage which provided power distribution to Future World.

Re: A posibly out of line question.
This class exists at DU, it is called "Walt Disney and You". You must have leadership approval to go. I can tell you it was one of the BEST, if not the best, course I took at Disney. I love my special pin you get from attending. A different color jewel for whether you are WDW or DL even! ...

Re: A posibly out of line question.
I want to add to Zazu's and Big Wallaby's comments. I have been a CR with Disney for a few years, as I have a full time job on the outside. I can tell you from personal experience that everything Disney taught me in Traditions and OTJ I have been able to use in the "outside of Disney" worl...

Re: GAC abuse
I know that the ADA does allow companies to ask about a disability and to ask for documentation as long as it is phrased correctly. I think Disney could do it as long as they do it the same way Six Flags does it. The phrase they use is "May I see a form or other documentation so that I can mak...

Oh, I love the " I just mesured him this morning" excuse. Like you have a doctor's scale in your house, even if you did I don't care. This sign says he's to short. One guy demanded that maintance come and measure the sign to make sure it was actually 48". We brought the measuring tap...

Re: No Videotaping
Soarin has always been no video taping. Nemo used to be no photography/video taping. However, it changed over the summer. Now you can take pictures (no flash) and video tape (no external lighting). Being a former Soarin' CM, there are two underlying reasons photography/video taping is verboten, 1) ...

Re: Wearing IDs on stage and off the clock
Not sure if it is your theatrical prowness. But CM's do stick out like a bump on a log in pubilc, in street clothes. Several years ago, the Orlando Sentinel put it the best. If you want to know if the person you are talking to is a Disney CM, just ask them for directions...... The finger point gives...

Re: Posting in the Right Forum
1. The administrator of a site is always right. 2. Never argue with a bird who knows WDW and DLR so well that bodies are NEVER found. Jimmy Hoffa is buried at WDW. Hugs for Zazu and I will try to put things in their right place. Would trash can be an option? An addition to the "Rules of the Ro...

Re: Wearing IDs on stage and off the clock
I'm also amazed that anyone would want to wear their ID on stage on their day off. Even without ID a lot of guests seem to have magic Cast Member detectors, wearing an ID I would think you would have a problem getting from one part of the park to another. -Harry I have found that many of the CM's I...
