Stupid Guest Tricks

hey guys after reading all your stories and tales about DLR i still have the urge to at least try a few months of employment with em this summer, so wut im askin is in your opinion what would be the best time to apply? how would i go about applying? and could you request a certain "job"?

First of March into April is the best time to hire in MEng. You'll have no prob - DLR will love your Alcatraz background! DLR will be hiring big time before May 05... so I've been told by HR. There is an 800 # you can call for employment. Will pm you when I find the #. Heard there will also be a huge job fair held by DLR. Don't know when. Near the end of your interview you might be asked where you'd like to work, if not, mention a few areas. They like your input. Every dept. will be hiring!! The field will be wide open.

Yeah with the opening of Buzz and the return of Space there will be openings in attractions most likely. If you wanna do attractions we are land locked so what department you get in is what attractions you can learn. If you have any questions about DL Attractions I am sure I and the other attractions CMs on this board will be happy to answer them. Best of luck!

so i kinda had my eyes on the steam trains being a train freak and all.... :D i mean is it even possible to become an engineer ...cuz no offense to anyone but they mostly seem old and retired... :shock:

Steam Trains is in Adventureland/Frontierland/Main Street attractions. I am sure GMC can tell you more seeing how he is a conductor on the Steam Trains.

so wuts training like at DLR?!!?!?!? its pretty simple on AZ you go through 3 8 hour classes learning the art of historical interpretation, learning not to talk about controvercial subjects like ghosts and torture and stuff like that...."the national park service can neither confirm or deny the exixtence of paranormal activities" lol usually get a few laughs at that until they see that im serious...of course i tell em my opinions on the subject then we take a 8 hour cpr class then if we have time we take a 8 hour first aid class haha then u have the option of the AED classes and other red cross classes.... same with u guys?!? do you have to deal with medical emergencies and stuff? im sure you guys have to deal with a lot more crap than us on the island...i mean u break the law on the island ur asked to leave and if you dnt ur hauled off by the law enforcement ranger in cuffs always get a kick outta that. read about how you guys have to deal with skool groups man that gotta be a pain we get them too during the summers mostly from the east coast where the well off parents try to get rid of the kids on west coast tours...man theyre a pain... ahh well any info how workin at DL is would be a great help....thanks again guys

You've got 8 hours of "traditions" (orientation), then another 8 hours of orientation for your dept, then usually 16-24 hours of On the job training in costume.

I think they'll probably have a job fair in late febuary. Spring break is pretty early this year, in march.

feb huh? well i dnt think i can make the drive down in feb but ill prob head down in march in spring break or something.

if it's attractions it'll be more than 32 hours most likely, now that we have OG reading, and also many locations now have extended training, to give you plenty of time for the complexities of the attraction to sink in.

If you hire in to Adventureland, depending on how these next few months you, i might be your trainer if you get indy or steam trains.
