Anyone who plays rock music can trace their music back to Chuck. The last time I saw him play live was at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco. Even with a crappy back up band he picked up locally he still killed it.

The first band I was ever in covered all his stuff. I can still sing Johnny B. Goode.

RIP.

The passing of a legend, for sure.

Is it bad that I was incredibly surprised by this news? I don't think I'd heard anything about him in ages, so I honestly thought he must have passed away a couple of decades ago.

That happens to me all the time, and I always feel a little bad.
