A little, but it's pretty heavy so the float didn't move it far.

Near as I can tell, they spent twenty minutes deciding it was okay to drive over the curb.

not guided, they can just be tracked as tho where they are, and they can control lights and music and such, like as the move down route, they tell witch speakers to play what. but someone is still inside driving (*sigh* i wish i could drive a pod again someday...)

So what did they do to the floats behind it at spectromagic? Did they back everythin up and stop the parade?

Well, let's think now.... If the street is too narrow for the first float, what will the floats behind it do?

a) Jump over the first float
b) Swap the wires on the speakers and run the floats backwards
c) Make a detour through Tomorrowland
d) Let the characters march on without the floats, abandoning them in place
e) Eventually follow the first float as it drives carefully over the curb

f) They left the floats where they were, and just slowly marched the guest by them

I meant from a logistical standpoint did they run all of the floats over the curb or back them up. You'd think it would be bad to run chassis with limited shocks over curbs.

Yes, they did end up driving all the floats over the curb... very slowly. You're quite right that the suspensions aren't really up to that, but the logistical challenge of backing them all off from the midpoint of the parade route is even worse. Those puppies don't back up at all well, and the drivers don't have much experience going in reverse. No view, either, so they would probably have had to sit there until we cleared the park of guests.

There is now a new ramp next to the curb there, all made of bright shiny new safety tread steel. Floats can now make that corner without testing Peter Pan's flying abilities. :ppan:
