I hate to gross you all out but working at star tours we get a lot of Code V's....Today was very special for us all. We had a very Stupid guest who decided to vomit in one Cabin which we had to shut down to clean and when we moved everyone from that vomit infested cabin to a clean one she demanded to ride on the ride again. We told her it was not a good ideal that she would most likely get sick again and even had the lead talk to her and she just wiped the vomit off her face and shirt and said "NO I OKAY! I RIDE!" Technically we cannot refuse to let someone ride unless they don't met the requirements for the ride.
So we start the ride and not even a minute into the flight vomit head starts vomiting up a storm in a 2nd cabin! Now we only have two cabins with a 50 Min wait! I would like to thank all guest who's decisions not only effect them but everyone else waiting in line by 30 mins!

Rebel Base Question

I work in Rebel Base (The store you dump into) and I have a non post related question for you. Is it now (Or was it ever) a requirement for you to call us with the final ride count at the end of the night? You were good about it for a while. The only people in the store that use it is the Amazing Picture guys :hammer: (Idiots). I just don't like talking to them and the less that they have to use my phone, the better. I don't expect you to change your operations up there, but I just wanted to know if it was on your close-out check list or not.

If you do not use it why do you care if we call it in or not? It sounds like you don't care if the picture people get it ether since they are idiots. (as you refered them too) WHat the hell is Rebel base anyways? I don't see any sings that say Rebel Base anywhere just Star Trader.

rebel base is probly the ministore by on the west side of the star trader, you know, where they sell all the star wars stuff, as opposed to just disney. Why not tell him whether or not you call the counts in to them. the angry makes me want to cry.

First- Rebel Base is the store at the end of your exit ramp (The first statement of my post).

Second- Rebel Base is the name of the Star Wars section of the Star Trader... it's a Zone name. Most people know us by Rebel Base... I guess it was an assumption that you did too... I appologize.

Third- Disreguard my question. It was just a request to make my job a tad easier, but now, just never mind. Obviously my politness didn't come through in text form.

Actualy I thought your question was fine. I might not have called anyone idiots. The verbal slap from barbie I think wasn't appropriate :)

well going back to voimit... :P

Over the last week the west dark rides in fantasyland seem to be attracting kids that have to vomit right as they are about to board or as they are entering the queue. I've had to call custodial a few different times about these Code V events and to me it seems like they take their time. Depressing.

We do our best, but sometimes, we're stuck elsewhere as well. I don't know how staffing was this last week, but keep in mind that for us, Fantasyland extends from the edge of the parade route all the way to the bridge on Big Thunder Trail. Usually, for that area, we will have three to four area sweepers, a queue sweeper, a trash person, and our lead. Of those, the only one with a radio is the lead. Now, I suspect that when you call for a Code V, you either call directly to Custodial Control or your leads do so for you. From you, the message has to go through at least one person to get to our lead. At that point, if the lead is able, they usually are the one who does the cleanup. If the lead isn't able to break away, they might ask one of us to do it, if they're near one of us. Either way, that takes time. Then, usually, we have to go to the locker to get everything we need for cleaning up the code V. Most of it is stuff we carry with us, but as Code Vs require large numbers of protowels, a garbage bag, and Sanifoam, we usually have to go to get those from the locker, unless we happen to know of a trash can that has some stashed in it. So, assume, back to the locker, from who knows where. Now, at this point, you have to also take the crowds in the park into account. This could take a while. And if the lead and the sweepers are all occupied with something else at the time that can't be put off, say another Code V, a Code U, or a Medical Cleanup situation, that makes it worse. At least Fantasyland cast doesn't get pulled to parade.

Basically, the upshot of it is that it sometimes can just take us a while to become available.

^wow fantasyland is a small area, all the dca areas are humongous and the locker not centrally located! DTD and farm (aka bugsland, 3/4 of the parade route, winery, golden dreams, and wharf) are the worst. Generally we get 3 sweepers, 1 queue sweeper, 1 trash cm, and the lead, although hollywood has an extra for tower. On slow days its 4 cms, including the lead.

Tips on getting a faster response...

Tell the EXACT location and your name. Don't call in vague areas like "the matterhorn" or "the steam trains" or "small world mall", give exact areas such as "theater a" or "behind the popcorn cart".

Use proper terminology....
Code V= Vomit
Code U=Urine
Code H=Feces
Medical Clean Up=Blood, semen
There is no code B for blood since v rhymes with b. There is also no code P for the same reason.
