OH, the Many pleasures of Crowd Control!

What can I say, Crowd control sucks. Whenever I do crowd control, I always get into altercations with the Lovely AP's, with thier dumb AP lanyard around their necks, who argue becuase the people are moving so slowly. Benefits of crowd control:
You get called names for enforcing rules
you get paid exactly what you get paid for operating attractions, while dealing with guests crap
Hit with strollers, ECV's and wheelchairs.
Get into fights with guests
Get hit, pushed, and threatend.

WHat is your guys input on crowd control. Persnally, I love crowd control. I love it becuase it is the only times that I can boss guests around, and take out some of my built up aggression out in crowd control. But there are the occassional guests that make my day at crowd control, Who get into other guests faces to defend me, or other cast members. I love thos guests!

I do crowd control once in a while and I don't really like it. It's easy and all, but a lot of the people who do it near my location get really anal and stuck-up about it. Like one time, I was doing cash at River Belle and one of the guests rearranged my chains without me knowing. One of the Fantasmic GCers stormed in "YOU!!! YOU'RE NOT CLOSED!!! WHY IS THIS CHAIN UP?!?!?!". This wasn't even during the show. They tend to keep on doing stuff like and the Riverfront Restaurant people don't think too highly of our GC team. I did it once with the Attractions people in Frontierland and they were MUCH nicer!

Crowd Control is cool!! It has a little more exciting then "Honey" and Astro I work on. I just LOVE GC shifts, like Fantasmic! The only thing suck is guests yelling in your face, but one has to learn how to let it roll off your back and don't let it get to you.

about the guy freaking out about the chain in the store, sometimes certain things have to be set up a certain way according to the (oh yes there is one) Fantasmic! OG, there's also one for the parade route, only the leads are accountable for knowing it though.as for working guest control, it's my favorite because it's something other than my attractions, even though i would like to be a parade lead (which i guess means the parade route is a trained location for you, rather than just something you know how to do)

yes CDS 3.0 sucks. I hate it.

But about the GC being a welcomed change, yes, it is. It is so much better than pressing an enable, and the lovely blinking green button.

Yes guests yell at you, and call you names, But it is a gret stress relief!

FL theater is a trained location now, even R.O.'s have to be trained, so i hear, i'm talking about the actual parade route, at least i think the parade route has one. Fantasmic! for sure does. and i really hope that there will not be CDS for fantasmic, so many people would be late in and out for their shifts.

Talked to Gina (or was it Lisa I don't remember) Fantasmic! is getting CDS for clock in/clock out purposes (I think Tim said possibily even to tell you what section you are in and who you lead is). But there are CDS computers all over the Westside and many easy to get to. And you can clock in up to 10 minutes early.

As for GC I love it. Fantasmic! is number 2 on my preference list followed by, Special Events, Parade GSO and Pooh GC. I have a Fantasmic! shift on Friday and if my cold clears up I am anxious to do it.

Yes you get yelled at yes people get frustrated but someone has to create traffic flow....

(This is post number 400 for me PM me if you have an idea for a title for me)

Im not a fan of the GC.... I use to have to do Indy GC back before Fastpass..I remember doing GC out at the Main entrance when the new ticket booths were being constructed...Fantasmic which I will do sometimes as ot.... when we opened Carboard cutout (pooh) had massive GC For that back when it had a 2 hour line... Mansion GC now which I loath and hate the fact that its part of normal rotations now... I dont know I just think I would Rather be paid the same to be inside an attraction and not outside dealing with all the stupid Guests

There are no pleasures involved in crowd contol (or PAC - Parade Audience Control, as we call it at WDW).

With six years seniority, I only get PAC shifts about once a year, which is about all I can stand. I swear I'd transfer or quit if I got assigned them on a regular basis.

And it's not *just* that I have a touch of ochlophobia, but that does help. Hey, think I could opt out under ADA?
