Fastpass+ is LITERALLY torture.

Post by KingsIslander » Thu Jan 16, 2014 9:39 am

Courtesy of Board X.
The MDE website today is so glitchy and muddled and mistake-riddled that trying to endure the slow, painful, process of fixing my Fastpass+ selections is the internet equivalent of water torture! Or bamboo slivers under the fingernails.

One minute I cannot change our family's Fastpass+ selections because the Fastpass+ system thinks one member of our party --- first me, then my husband -- has "exceeded the number" of allowable selections. (Even tho all our selections have been made as a group of four; no one's selections vary in any way from anyone else's.) So I wait, reboot . . .. try again . . . and then the system thinks everyone except my four year old son has exceeded the limit of allowable passes. Wait . . .sign out, sign in again . . . yeah. Same thing all over again.

I have work to do, MDE, I have to get back to work!
So, in other words, its acting normal? :hysterical:
Hey, hey, no fair......you're not allowed to comment on this system until you've been in the parks and used it!
So far, nobody has pointed out that it's kind of ridiculous to compare encountering a glitch booking a luxury vacation isn't the same thing as physical torture. :banghead: :oweye:

I think it's funny that they reboot their computer, thinking that will fix it. Yes, Disney actually relies on YOUR machine, on your crappy Internet connection, to run Fastpass+.

But yeah, booking a vacation is JUST LIKE torture... :oweye:

Naw, torture is spending all day at a Concierge guest, dealing with guests who can't use MDX because it's down on a day when CastApp is also down.

... and your FSA just says, "You're smart, figure it out!"

... and the entire GSM team is out of the office for team-building.

... and the phone queue for Tech Support is so long they won't even put you on hold.

... and the guest's baby is screaming.

... and the guest is screaming.

... and it's your first shift in two months, nobody told you about the changes, and it's all different so you're not completely sure it isn't you.

... and you're already an hour late for your lunch.

... and now the cafeteria is closed.

... and after closing tonight you get to open tomorrow.

... and you just realized that with the FP- kiosks being closed, cast members won't be able to get fastpasses any more.

It's a wonder more of us don't "go postal". :grump:

I'll need to remember that next time someone complains that their pass isn't scanning for some reason.
"This would never happen at DISNEY!!!11" :grump:
"Well, actually..."

Has there been anyone who is actually happy with the new system besides management?

If no one likes it, how long will it take before they scrap it? (Sorry. Not meant to be a joke. No punch line coming.)

It will never happen! Way to much invested, they have to make it work and with time, it will all be accepted, the bugs will be worked out and we will continue to go. Different mind set, perhaps, but we will continue and so will Disney.

I kind of like the idea of pre-booking FP+. Disney's execution on the other hand... :oweye:

I used it on a recent trip. There was a lot I liked, and some I didn't. There's a more complete post in the FastPast+ thread in the Break Room Forum.

We had no issues with it.

Did the word OBAMACARE pop into anyone else's head as they read the original post? :oweye:
