that's horrific to do to any animal. wait until someone decides to try it with rodents.
We got a excibit out here. dead people with no skin.
rumor says they were Chinese prisoners. you can even see what appears to be bullet holes in some of them.
man is just another animal.

My only experience with fire ants was from a distance. I was in Atlanta teaching a class and was invite to a picnic by our local sales office. We were at a park when someone discovered a fire ant hill next to the picnic table. They took lighter fluid, doused the hill with it and lit it on fire. I said that that seemed pretty severe. On of the guys said his kid had been severely bitten by them and since them it was death to fire ants.

I've heard other stories about cattle and other animals being attacked so getting rid of them is probably the right thing to do.

Fire ants can be horrific.

Shortly after we moved into my house, my wife did some yard work while I was at work, and afterward went in for a shower. She started feeling light-headed, and had several other things happen that... well, she knew she had a problem. She called 911, they waited with her until I got home to transport her to the ER.

As we drove along, she was passing in and out of consciousness. I am not normally a fast driver, but the nearest hospital is 12 miles away, and I wanted her there now. Flashers and 95 MPH up 27. I would like to have enjoyed the experience.

The triage nurse put the BP cuff on her and continued asking questions. When the numbers came up, my first question was whether the machine was working properly. The nurse saw the numbers, immediately went and got a wheel chair and wheeled her to a room.

That was the day we found out she is allergic to fire ant stings. If you've ever been attacked by fire ants, you might appreciate this video. If your wife has almost been killed by them, you might appreciate it even more.

I've never heard of rats attacking and killing people just because that's their nature.

Fire ants are horrific. I have heard, and frankly am willing to believe, stories where they attack an invalid person where they are in bed. By attack, I mean attack and kill. As an entire colony they work together.

I have heard as well how they will pass over food and go attack people in their beds, so I am not having too much regret over wiping out a colony here and there especially if it near a populated area. The casting is very beautiful, but sort of reminds me of the castings they made of the victims in Pompeii.

I believe the second most feared foreign species in Hawaii are fire ants. The ag inspectors are on constant alert. The first most feared is any kind of snake. See Guam, Brown snakes and you'll know why.

Are Tourists on that list? I have heard there is an imported frog there, a beautiful, tiny thing but it has an explodingly loud croaking it does at night, which keeps tourists and locals awake :frog: :frog: :frog: :frog: :frog: :frog: :frog: :frog: :frog:

That is too cool. Having done some casting in high school, this kind of stuff fascinates me.we worked with brass and aluminum.
