Why did Disney do this?
because they had a rat person bring them in rats to observe so they would learn how to draw rats properly.
so there you go, why disney has pet rats depicted as wild in paris france.

You have no idea how many nights I have laid away, starring at the ceiling thinking...why, oh why did Disney depict pet rats as wild. In fact, almost as much time as I have spent doing the same thing asking why anyone would want a pet rat! Thankfully, another mystery of life solved.

Many years ago my Uncle had a pet rat...
My Grandma didn't like it, told him to get rid of it, so he set it "free" in their basement......
would that rat then be a "wild" rat?

Or the movie is a sequel and the rats the descendents of the lab rats from the Secret of NIMH.

Out here, there are wild parrots, usually green ones, though Whatbird.com says there's red ones as well, haven't seen any. There are theories as to where they came from, but I believe they are pet parrots who escaped and are now living wild. They're not native, and from time to time I see ads for lost birds .

no. then it would be a desperate pet rat on it's own.
even if it got outside a wild nest would never take it in. I have 4 female pet rats

yeah they all were someones pets.
I see large and small pet birds flying around.
like the white doves people used to release at weddings. how many of those do you think found thier way home?

When we go vacation in San Diego's Ocean Beach, there are flocks of "Wild" Parrots overhead who are apparently well-suited to their Beach Lifestyle. I am sure they are several generations from being pets.

On the other hand, when we go to the "Safari Park" we have seen the local Deer, Rabbits and Foxes in the enclosures, enjoying free feed, grass and I imagine the mice who also partake. The Park Staff call them "Freeloaders". :bambi:
