I think the best one was having Ariel host a seafood restaurant. Fish are friends and food.

It's been a while since I've watched The Little Mermaid, but I don't recall the story ever indicated exactly what Ariel and the other mermaid ate since the fish and crustaceans were all sentient. Kelp perhaps?

She is the only one we actually see eating in the movie.

And she was eating shrimp, no less. Alive and struggling.
