Slow no more: Disney cancels SoCal ticket deals

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are doing too well at the gate since Cars Land to offer locals a discount.

By SARAH TULLY / ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

ANAHEIM – Southern California residents can't get deep discounts on Disneyland and Disney California Adventure tickets this spring.

Disney sold 2-for-1 tickets or similar deals to local residents from 2003 through last year as a way to bring in visitors during the slower season, usually January through May. But higher attendance, bolstered by last year's Cars Land improvements, prompted this year's cancellation.

"We regularly evaluate our offerings in the local market and make decisions based on our business needs," said Suzi Brown, a Disneyland Resort spokeswoman. full article

This is all because they know my will power isn't strong enough to stay away. They raised my passes last year and yet I still fork out the money.

I'm reminded of the line from "So I Married An Ax Murderer" where the dad says the Colonel Sanders puts something in the chicken that makes you crave it fortnightly. I think somehow Disney does the same thing to my brain.

The Colonel does the same thing that Costco does with their chickens; lotsa salt.

So that begs the question that causes quite the discussion at our house. Do you like sweets after a meal and then be done, or do you have to have something salty after dessert just to finish things off?

SWMBO and I are savory folks. While I don't mind sweets, I'd just as soon finish a meal with a cheese plate as a canoli. Fortunately, this is becoming an available option a lot of places.

True, sometimes I have to convince my server that it's okay to serve me an appetizer after the main course, but once I point out their tip depends on it, I've always been successful.
