With both US Disney parks in areas where "Acts of God" are a very real threat what would you rather deal with? Hurricanes in Florida or Earthquakes in California?

Earthquakes definately. Have lived through a couple and happen less frequently then hurricanes. That and if we get a big enough one maybe California will be its own island :)

Up until this year we have rarely had a hurricane. Before Charley the last hurricane was in the 1960's to pass through Orange County. They do last longer, but depending on how well prepared you are you can manage through a hurricane, and plus you know that they are comming well in advance.

Give me a good ol CA. earthquake! COULD NOT survive the terror FL. has gone through these last 5 weeks. Landers & Northridge are the largest quakes I've been in. A lil shaking is much better on the psyche then living through heavy sideways rains only to realize 180 mph winds are coming to destroy everything. Will even opt for a few more Stupid Guests in liue of a hurricane  GOOD LUCK CMs @ WDW :!:

I'll take a quake any day, it's like a miniature rollercoaster! and they're over a lot faster.

not to mention that I usually sleep through them or don't notice them. with the exception of northridge... I was sleeping fine until my lamp fell on my head (oh... that explains so much!)

I remember the northridge one. I think it was that one maybe it was a different one. But I was living in SD county at the time. I didn't feel the quake persay but every pet we owned when nuts. My bird Hercules (named because his father's name is Zeus no disney relation) went crazy waking me up. I remember being mad because I was taking the PSAT that day and had a band tournament that night.

yeah landers woke me up in just enough time to catch my lava lamp from falling on my face, it was a heavy one too, i tehn proceeded to watch the transformers expolde off in the distance as the quake rolled away.... that's my favorite part, is guessing direction and magnitude.
