Please Don't Feed the Trolls

Like any other open system in the Internet, we are occasionally infested by spammers and trolls. We ask that you do not respond to them, but simply report their posts so your admin team can deal with them.
They do indeed make a tempting, even a deserving target for scorn and comedy. Please try to resist the temptation, as it tends to encourage them.
Banned members who return will be dealt with, using any of a number of tools available to us. It won't always happen immediately, depending on how stubborn they are, so some patience is at times required.
As some of you may have noticed, the spam and troll messages -- and your replies to the spammers -- are all deleted once detected so as to deny them the satisfaction of a public debate. Please help reduce the admin burden and don't add your own posts on these topics, as they are off-topic on all forums.
