:bounce: Here is my problem I work in Fantasyland and the crew of 2003 was wonderfull, except for a few exceptions, and now adays it seems that the new cast memebers that are coming in seem to have a problem with other cast members. What ever happend to the great family enviroment we all know and love?????
I was recently at a role call when one of our leads said that we where not aloud to curse back-stage anymore!!! I mean I know some cast members do get out of hand but being back stage w/friends is a way to vent about peoples stupidity. So why are you going to take the only freedom we have left and prevent us from speaking our minds!!
I do ask from my fellow cast members if you have a problem w/volgarity confront the person chances are the cast member will respect your honesty. Dont cry to your manager

Hmm that's a tough one

The problem I'm seeing here Nala is your flat out contradiction of yourself in your rant. First you complain about the lack of "love" and "family environment" but then you whine because you cannot curse backstage. Did it ever occur to you that no matter if you are backstage or onstage, you are setting an example for other CM's to act upon? The title of CM has no longer been given a sense of reverence. It's now treated as a novelty, which is a shame. Be proud you have been given this opportunity to be part of those few who make the title a reason for others to want to join you. Do all of us former CM's a favor. Go in with pride at what you do and leave the place you are at better than when you came in. Isn't that what being a CM is truly all about? :)

i don't see why we can't use our "offstage" words offstage anymore, when i'm upset about a guest i usually have to jog from mainstreet station, to a faraway bathroom, to take a dump, and mutter curse words there and back, it's not the most typical form of therapy, but it sure does work. i typically keep it outof conversations though, just because i don't want to offend anyone, but if i'm with people i know, or something has me really, really pissed off.

I don't think Little Doll was talking about not using swear words in general. Nala had been commenting that there was no magic, then complaining about not being able to swear and then Nala's signature. If Nala so misses the magic, then Nala needs to find that the magic begins with Nala and with Nala's attitude towards "fat people" and those who are the reason for Nala's job, its not too hard to see why the magic is missing.

I concur. I was a bit shocked at the hypocrisy of the first post. If you want to make Magic then make it, don't complain it isn't there then turn around and complain about trivial venting. That's what this board is for :D . Just chill Nala, and be like a duck, water off your back, calm and serine on top but paddling like hell underneth.

I don't think nala was being hypocritical. Her post was just venting about different issues. Obviously there is no connection between being allowed to curse backstage and the new-hires being nice people.

Nala can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Claudia is misinterpreting Nala's phrase "family environment." I think Claudia is using the phrase to mean "a safe, child-friendly environment," while I think Nala means it as "a group of people who have bonded together in friendship."

When I first read Nala's post, I also thought she meant that phrase to be "a safe, child-friendly environment," and I was about to dismiss her as one of those CMs who had a pixie dust enema...

Hell, Walt was known for cussing up a storm...

it's ok nala, when i first got here, i said a few things that were pretty bad too, and i was just venting anger, i'm sure you'll warm up to our attitudes. feel free to vent, but be careful who and what you vent about, you might piss one of us off, and that's no good, just smile, and be happy.

 I hope you did not get the impretion that all I am looking foward to is going back stage and cursing up a storm!! All I was refering to was a role call we where having one day and the lead went on to tell us that we where not aloud to speak our minds, nor eat inside our break room, or have any fun onstage!! Many of us have gotten in trouble for saying something over the PA that THEY thought where inapropriate, but in reality we where just trying to create MAGIC!! All I was saying was that the place I once loved just turned into a hell hole!! I used to have fun and this was my place of peace I just wish people would not be so negative at someone elses remarks or playfulness!!!! :throw:

Nala I just wanted to let you know the nature of that role call. The reason we got yelled at for swaring is because some cast members whether they were attractions cast members or not were talking so loud and cursing at each other that guests heard. These guests complained to city hall so bingo we get yelled at.
