New American Adventure Costumes
I just saw the rumor that they are going to change the American Adventure Costume to something more modern. If this is true then I really think it would be such a sad change. A modern look just seems so wrong.

Appropriate for Take Flight? Yes. But American Adventure? Seriously?

I don't like any of those. They do look like airline uniforms or baseball hot dog stand uniforms.

I didn't even see the striped shirt the first time. That's hideous. Not as bad as Pizzafari, but still pretty bad.

Re: New American Adventure Costumes
Whatever happened to costumes being timeless? There shouldn't be a reason to "modernize" anything.

It's already happened, unfortunately. And I HATE the new costumes :(

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

That's just wrong. As a person interested in history, particularly Colonial and Revolutionary periods, I have been let down by the changes in the merchandise offerings at AA over the last decade or more, but this is just... wrong! I love the AA show and the building is great. I always check the exhibit space to see if anything has changed. Now I'll have to be careful not to be struck blind while wandering the halls. :(

Re: New American Adventure Costumes
I admit that when I first heard and saw what was being done, I was a little taken back. Then I got to thinking, America is more than just one era or place in time. The pavilion itself reflects history and a sense of beginning, but we are more than just our past, we are also our present. I'm not fond of the choice of costume. I think they could have done better than that and found something a little more attractive, but I am not really upset with the concept anymore. :)

Okay, they look like they would be more comfortable than a traditional Colonial costume, with the advantage of not having to deal with wigs. But what's with the cartoon gloves????? And yeah, the ones in the first picture weren't too bad, but the others--too modern. Could've made them at least look like coats--in the first picture--and a tricorn hat would be a nice touch. They should check the site for Colonial Williamsburg for clues on how people dressed back then. Striped shirt, no; striped dress, maybe. If it's themed to the American Colonial Period, that's what the costumes should reflect.
