Marsupials Unmasked!

Post by BRWombat » Thu Jul 05, 2012 5:02 pm

Since you've all been without SGT for a few days, here's a little treat to celebrate its return...

As you know, I've never worked to hard to hide my identity here -- never really had to -- but that's standard practice for those of you in the employ of Big Cheese. Well, Wallaby no longer works for Mickey, and while that's a loss for the company, he's now given me permission to post photos of him I've been withholding since January 2008!

And so, with all due fanfare, and with the understanding that we've both dropped a lot of weight since then, I give you the inaugural (and so far only) meeting of the SGT Marsupial Welcoming Committee! :D:

Here's my first glimpse of Wallaby, in his (then) native environment. When he asked people on the truck what animals we were hoping to see on the Safari, I shouted "Wallabies!"

This is us together for the first time at the Polynesian. Wallaby joined my family for dinner at O'Hana that night.

Finally here we are with my two sons (who are now both in high school) outside of DAK, on our way to a bitterly cold but fun showing of Fantasmic!

Well then, while we are at it, here's his safari from back in the day.

And I see in that last picture that I had simply switched out of the shirt, but was still wearing my Safari pants. Sheesh. How do you make brown pants loud? I still don't know, but those pants are loud.

Thank you Wombat for your confidence in holding those pictures. I am fairly sure that even I had not seen them yet.

Now, we need to have another meeting.

I make no guarantees... But there is a chance that I could be able to make it that way at that time. It all depends.

Oh, watching that Safari video is going to be fun :~D I've never been to AK you know! I keep meaning to go...I just keep magically ending up at the other parks instead. I don't know, it's crazy.

I would love to, DM! Unfortunately, the International convention dates are set for the next seven years already:

2013 Toronto
2014 Las Vegas
2015 Pittsburgh
2016 Nashville
2017 Minneapolis
2018 Orlando
2019 Salt Lake City

So, yes, there's Orlando, but that's in six years! The closest we'll be to you in the foreseeable future is Vegas in 2014. The good news is that that's when the VM is returning to the International competition, so I should be there if you or any other SGTers want to make the trek to Sin City.
