Okay, we all have them. Those silly, ridiculous things your want simply because "That is cool" or when you see it the first word out of your mouth is "WANT".

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

A Studebaker Avanti or Avanti II (but only if the Avanti II was built before Blake took over -- still think the later ones are pretty but don't want to own one). Which is a ridiculous because I'm not a mechanic, nor is hubby, and we're talking cars that've been around forty years or more. Wouldn't want to try fitting five kids in there, either. First car I ever fell in love with. My grandma had one when I was a kid and I thought it was the coolest thing ever and still do.

Realized once that all the cars I've liked since have that same long nose with kind of boxy front, and then they're tucked in and a bit curvy in the back. Meaning I have a weakness for pretty much all the pony cars from around 1966 except the Barracuda, which is not tucked in properly in the back, so I hate it.

I'll bite. Why is that ridiculous? I think one would be wonderful. In fact, there are only two reasons that I can see for which owning one would be ridiculous: 1) if you never played it, didn't keep it up and let it go to waste, and 2) if you deprived others of hearing its sound. For either of those circumstances, the Marsupial Welcoming Committee would become the Marsupial Punishment Committee.Lasolimu wrote:I'd love to own a Hamburg Steinway...
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

It's ridiculous mostly because of the cost to acquire one.Big Wallaby wrote:I'll bite. Why is that ridiculous? I think one would be wonderful. Our recital hall here in Toronto has both a Hamburg and a New York Steinway. The artist gets to choose which they would prefer for their gig. The Hamburg one seems to be more popular.Lasolimu wrote:I'd love to own a Hamburg Steinway...

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.
