Yes, I do know the background to A.A. Milne's stories, they were written to amuse his son Christopher Robin Milne, but when the stories were made public, poor Christopher Robin got teased mercilessly by the other kids and this lead to the relationship between father and son to be permanently damaged. :(

I remember how shocked I was when I first read an interview with Lynn Johnston where she blithely said she based her comic on things that happened in her family. My sister in law went to school with her kids, not sure which one. She said that they were kind of warped. You would be too if there were a caricature of you in statue form in the local mall!
