Isn't Pooh a bear? Maybe a girl is not what he is looking for. ;)

On that note, why don't we ever see Christopher Robin's parents? Who is Roo's father? What about Owl, Eeyore, Rabbit, and the rest--why don't they have girlfriends? Kanga is the only female character--why isn't she with a nice boy kangaroo? ;)

Yes, I do know the background to A.A. Milne's stories, they were written to amuse his son Christopher Robin Milne, but when the stories were made public, poor Christopher Robin got teased mercilessly by the other kids and this lead to the relationship between father and son to be permanently damaged. :(

Carry on....

yes, I remember that.
he changed his name too, and never talked to his father again.
and when milne died, he never went to his funeral.
basicly the pooh stories killed the family.
Chris never even wanted the stories when the family sold them.

I remember how shocked I was when I first read an interview with Lynn Johnston where she blithely said she based her comic on things that happened in her family. If I'd been one of her kids that would have made me nuts, and she, at least, changed the names and stuff!

That one never bothered me because at least they were all grown when he was telling the tales publicly. (Or at least I assumed they were.)

I thought this belonged on this thread: Christopher Solo and Wookie the Chew:

My sister in law went to school with her kids, not sure which one. She said that they were kind of warped. You would be too if there were a caricature of you in statue form in the local mall! Apparently it is now in the Hospital there.http://fborfw.com/news/2011/11/a-peek-a ... -in-3d.php
