Disney Fans Tweet From Storybook Circus Soft Opening

While it hasn't opened officially, the first part of New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom welcomed guests Monday morning in an apparent soft opening.
Disney fans tweeted their excitement Monday morning as Storybook Circus let visitors in for the first time.

It's common practice for theme parks to host unannounced "soft openings" to test new areas before any official grand opening. Hours and attraction operations never are guaranteed during soft openings, so while Twitter users reported the opening Monday morning, that could change at any time. In short, operations are in Disney's hands as it moves toward grand opening.
Storybook Circus is just one part of New Fantasyland, the largest ever expansion of the Magic Kingdom.
Twitter users reported that one side of Dumbo the Flying Elephant was open Monday morning, along with the rethemed Barnstormer coaster and the Fantasyland train station.
Storybook Circus is expected to be officially open by late March, according to Disney. New Fantasyland is expected to be completely done by 2014. Most attractions are scheduled to be open by 2013.
Future New Fantasyland projects still under construction include Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid, the Be Our Guest restaurant and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster.
I'll be headed over there some time today to see if it's still open. ;)

How are things looking for the rest of the expansion?
They are still hard at work getting things finished. The expansion is supposed to open at the end of this month. I plan to go back then and get some more pictures.

Dumbo's gorgeous at night, there are lights in the fountain below the elephants so it changes the shades on the actual arms and central area. Definitely looks like a huge queue was constructed.
When I went the railroad was already 10-7, but the themeing of the station was great. They even had Carolwood Fire Department on the fire extinguisher next to the bathrooms.
Which speaking of are great, the taps actually had hot water, but apparently the toilets use dyed/treated brown water. The No Beber signs at the entrance are strange, but most guests won't notice 'em.
