I'm hearing rumblings and rumors that Obama will be visiting the Magic Kingdom Thursday night. DHS has fireworks scheduled, and there are dual evening EMHs at Epcot and DHS, yet it's a super empty week. Apparently some strange note is on the hub also.
Any insight?
Obama coming to WDW Thursday?

Have fun with that Main St ops...

It's not all that complex to organize. You just pull the records from Michael Eisner's last visit, then drop the parts the Secret Service says are unnecessary.darph nader wrote:I'm sure there will be a 'lot' of MiBs. ;)

That's going to be a mess, not so much for Magic Kingdom but everything else.
Parking and access will be chaos. The highways will be shut down for a time.
When Bush went threw many years ago, it was pure chaos. They had 528 and 4 completely shut down both directions for nearly and hour so the president could "Travel". I remember thinking to myself "Let 'em sit in traffic like everyone else, maybe they'll finally pay attention to the traffic issue if the 'president' had to sit in it too!"
I don't envy anyone trying to get ANYPLACE that day!
Their used to be a running joke, anytime we knew Eisner was coming their was a rush for "Time Off Requests" and "PTO" because no one wanted to deal with the mess it created :D:

Bill Clinton still owes me five pounds. He was paraded by in London as I watched the meter in my cab continue to tick over.Darksin wrote:"Let 'em sit in traffic like everyone else, maybe they'll finally pay attention to the traffic issue if the 'president' had to sit in it too!"
Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Re: Obama coming to WDW Thursday?
The FAA has issued Temporary Flight Restrictions and No-Fly Zones for President Obama's visit.
During his visit there will be two 30 NM radius TFRs, one centered over KMCO and the other over WDW (there's a lot of overlap in the two) and two 10 NM radius No-Fly Zones centered over the same points. All are surface to 17,999 feet.
Just in case you're curious, there's a permanent flight restricted area over WDW, it is 3 NM radius and surface to 3000 feet. It is centered in between Epcot and the MK. DLR has a similar flight restriction in place.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

My bet is they would at least drive him in via Reams, if not just chopper him straight to park 3.Darksin wrote:That's going to be a mess, not so much for Magic Kingdom but everything else.
