Is this one of the replacements for Jaws?
What is? Despicable Me? That's replacing the Jimmy Neutron attraction. AFAIK they've not yet said what will replace Jaws and the Amity area.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…

They are reworking the Jimmy Neutron ride to be based on the "Despicable Me" movie. The minions are taking over. You can read more about it and see some videos here:

Wonder what will happen to poor old Bruce,
will he end up on the junk pile?
will some nice collector buy him?
will the employees tear him apart like they do to disney icons?
ala the sea serpent and squid from the submarine ride.
stay tuna-ed, only time will tell...

yeah, a theme park salvage place showed pictures of what they did to the props after/while disney was draining it to take it apart. eyes and tentecles where ripped off the squid, and the sea monster lost it's head and some feet.the salvages said between that and the water rot of the props and scenery, it wasnt even worth it to show up at all. the subs were too worn out, they got mostly seaweb and control panels from the ride.
hey, here is theold article:

Good Article! Sounds like the Sea Monster lost his head to a collector, tho.

If I could have anything from Disneyland, I would sure like the Mermaid Plaque and Fountain from POTC. :)

yes, people will do most anything to get a piece of disney.
look at the apple in the snow white ride, it got stolen so many times, people would jump out of thier ride car to steal it. disney got so tired of this they converted it into a fiber optical illusion. I heard some people still will try to grab it but now its just a mass of pretty colored light. dont even get me started on the little devils at the end of toads wild ride...

What if disney had a contest, you could walk into the parks anywhere, and grab any 1 single item you wanted to keep. what would you take?
err, has to be from on stage thou, i.e. cant run back into wardrobe and grab goofys head or something.

I bet the mermaids and their treasure chest were snapped up pretty quickly.

A submarine.

I'm thinking the days take from the Parking lots. That's out in the open and not backstage isn't it?
